Massive stalls for dolly like rains, chaos

Thousands of passengers in one of India’s richest suburbs stuck on the roads for six to eight hours due to rain on Monday.

The incident has caused indignation on the Internet, and many questioned how a place like Gurugram – known for its futuristic skyscrapers and spreading corporate offices – can have such poor infrastructure.

Authorities on the management of spontaneous disasters in the suburbs located on the outskirts of the Delhi capital, advised offices, schools and colleges to work at home on Tuesday, because more precipitation is forecast.

This year, heavy rains caused chaos in several parts of India, killed hundreds of people in flood and landslides.

Some users have joked about whether they were just sleeping in the office and others said it was likely to reach a foot faster.

Disappointed residents raised questions about why the state failed to improve the infrastructure in the city, which houses the regional headquarters of some largest companies, including Google, Meta, American Express and Samsung.

Meanwhile, Delhi and surrounding cities also issued warnings about the weather.

The Yanuna River, which runs through the city, has crossed the danger sign over the past few days, flooding some lowland areas. Authorities call on people who live there to move to safer places.

The old railway bridge, which connects the two sides of the river, was closed with a rising water level.

In a social media report on Monday, Chief Minister Delhi Echu Hupta assured the residents that the situation is closely monitored.

India regularly indicates strong floods during the monsoon season, which runs from June to September. But officials say the rains this season was much higher.

The rains also shot down other states such as Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Kashmir’s parts measured in Indian administration.

At least 29 people were killed from the flood in Punjab, where more rains are forecast on Tuesday.

The data published by the Himachal Prades disaster management show that 310 people were killed as a result of rain -related incidents – for example, Flash Floods, Newslides and Road Area – in the state since June 2025.
