Cutting of electricity in southeastern France has temporarily violated shows on the last day of the Cannes Film Festival.
About 160,000 houses in the city of Cannes and surrounding municipalities lost electricity on Saturday, said the French electricity operator.
Police investigates a possible attack as the main cause of the incident.
The organizers of the International Film Festival say the closing ceremony will go forward as they were planned because they have an alternative power supply.
The electricity slice affected 160,000 houses in the Alpe-Marita area. According to RTE, deliveries were restored at 15:00 local time (11:00 GMT).
In Cannes, shops and restaurants, they fought for work during the incision.
“Another hour and I’ll throw it all out,” said Laurent Aboukrat, which owns the Jamin Canne Jamin restaurant. He said his refrigerators were off in the morning
“Cannes are in a completely slowdown, crisis, no coffee anywhere, and I think the croissants ended in the city, so it is like a crisis area,” said Australian producer Darren Vukasinovich.
Police are investigating a possible attack on a power substation. “We are considering the likelihood of the fire to start intentionally,” said the Genndarmer Reuters press.
Saturday is the last day of the Cannes Film Festival. French actress Juliet Binosh and her jury intend to announce the winner of “Palm -Dor” – the highest prize, which is awarded at the festival.
