Update: The Trump administration will reinstate ByteDance apps, including Tiktok and Marvel Snap. While neither are currently available on iOS or Android, Tiktok said it is “in the process of restoring service”. Second dinner he said snap players will be compensated for “losing time-based content, rewards and Missions. (…) We will share more information on this as the situation evolves.”
Original story: Last night Saturday January 18th. the United States government made his promise to ban TikTok. The ban came from a recently renewed amendment from an aid bill to Ukraine that gained bipartisan support, and seemed more likely as the owner of TikTok, the Chinese tech giant. ByteDancerefused to sell it to a Company of the United States. Users were quite surprised to see the ban enforced, partly because this affects more than just the popular social platform.
American players of the popular mobile game Marvel Snap were hit with a popup message last night (or this morning, if they checked) saying that the card trading game has been banned in the country. “A law banning (our game) has been enacted in the United States,” the popup says. “Unfortunately, that means you can’t use it Marvel Snap just for now. Rest assured, we are working to restore our service in the US Please stay tuned! As with TikTok, this seems to affect players who don’t live in the United States, but to do have a country-based account, and the game app no longer shows up in the iOS or Android stores.
Marvel Snap is published by Nuverse, which is a subsidiary of ByteDance. It is, along with other apps (CapCut and Lemon8) and games (One Punch Man: The Strongest, Mission EVO) owned by the company, they have also been banned in the country for the foreseeable future. At the time of writing, Marvel has not commented on the interruption, but the developer Second dinner he called it “a surprise for us and it wasn’t planned.” The studio said the game “isn’t going anywhere”, and is “actively working to get the game out as soon as possible and will update you when we have more to share”.
Unfortunately, MARVEL SNAP is temporarily unavailable in US app stores and is not available to play in the US.
This interruption is a surprise to us and was not expected. MARVEL SNAP isn’t going anywhere.
We are actively working to get the game out as soon as possible and you…
