Manny Pacquiao has confirmed today on social networks that he plans to leave his retirement to challenge Mario Barrios for his heavy weight title from the WBC on July 19 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The 46 -year -old Pacquiao wants to be again world champion.
The reaction of Pacquiao, which achieved an immediate title after four years of inactivity, has been massive. Fans do not like the idea that the Philippine star is inserted in the #5 site by the WBC, and to get a title shot in their first struggle since 2021.
The fans suspect the money returns, seeing that the largest fighters in the store are doing an absurd amount of mass for their fights. Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are examples.
The Barrios (29-2-1, 18 kos) are seen as paper champion to 147 by many fans. So, Manny (62-8-2, 39 kos) has chosen the perfect belt holder to try to win a belt in his comeback. The old promoter of Pacquiao, Bob Arum, does not think that it is a good idea for him to fight his age and he is concerned about the possibility of hurting.
Former Pacquiao, Tim Bradley, says that Mario Barrios could “end”, sending him back to retirement. He does not think that Manny can deal with the neighborhoods much younger and capable of 29 years.
Even if Pacquiao wins, how much credit will you receive to beat Barrios? It will not be as much as he or his fans think he will. Barrios probably lost his last fight against Fringe Contest, Abel Ramos, last November in Arlington, Texas. The struggle was marked as a 12 -round tie, but many boxing fans won Ramos, including me.
The past defeats of Barrios have arrived against Keith Thurman and Gervonta Davis Light. Thurman had been out of the ring for more than two years when he fought against the neighborhoods.
I’m back.
On July 19, I return to the ring to face -Me to WBC Welterweight, Mario Barrios, at the MGM Grand de las Vegas.
