“I look at the end of last season and this was positive for me, to return to the way I was and playing and ending the end of the season, getting a few goals and re -entering and among the boys. This is the most important,” he said.

“We are all together, and I think this period is now so important to us that we are engaged together to train us. But yes, personally, I feel great. I feel that I am in a really good place right now.

“I’m really excited for the start of the season.”

He added: “We had a long break, just over five weeks. This felt a lot, very long. I think after two, you start to itch and you want to start again -you.

“It was good to focus on getting this rest period, just turning off and relaxing, but then slowly building it, preparing for the first day we returned.

“We have been told that it would be difficult from the beginning, so we had to be ready for it.”
