Manchester United announces a Cunha Agreement on the first day of 2025 in the summer transfer window

Manchester United has agreed to sign Matheus Cunha de Wolves after activating the launch clause of 62.5 million pounds in Brazil.

The United confirmed the agreement for the 26th anniversary on the opening day of the summer transfer window this year, which has been adjusted to allow clubs to register players ahead of the recent expanded FIFA Club Club, which starts on June 15 (United Kingdom time) in the United States.

Cunha has agreed to a five -year contract with an additional option for Old Trafford and will now be incorporated with Brazil National Side for the first game of Carlo Ancelotti in charge after completing his doctor with the United this weekend.

“Manchester United has reached an agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers for the signing of Matheus Cunha,” a statement from the club read.

“The signature of the Brazilian striker is subject to visa and registration.

“Everyone in Manchester United hopes to welcome Matheus to Old Trafford.”

Cunha had been a key goal for United as the main coach, Ruben Amorim, trying to remodel the team after the worst season of the club’s premier League, where they finished in 16th place.

The Brazilian, which scored 33 goals in 92 appearances in two and a half seasons in Molineux, seems to be the first signing of the United of the transfer window of two parts this year, which initially releases from June 1 to June 10, before re-opening on June 16 until September 1.

Although the United does not participate in the Club Cup this summer, the newly adjusted window applies to each of the 20 national associations with competing clubs, of which England, with Manchester City and Chelsea involved, is one.

The first opening has allowed Alexander-Arnold to leave Liverpool for Real Madrid after the Premier League champions accepted a rate of 10 million euros (£ 8.4 million) to release the defender of his contract prematurely.
