Luigi Mangione Will Be In The Same Brooklyn Jail As Sean Diddy Comb

Luigi Mangione, the man accused of murdering the CEO of UnitedHealthcare Brian Thompson, he will reportedly be housed in the same New York City prison as Sean “Diddy” Combs.

Mangione, 26, arrived in New York from Pennsylvania on Thursday, December 19, to be charged with federal murder. If convicted of the crime, he could face the death penalty.

Back CNN a ABC News, Mangione is now in federal custody and will be held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn – the same jail where Combs, 55, has been held since September.

Mangione and Combs also have another connection; the pair share the same lawyerMark Agnifilo. Agniilo appeared in federal court with his wife Karen Friedman Agnifilo Thursday to notify Judge Katharine Parker that they will represent Mangione.

A spokesperson for Friedman Agnifilo’s company, Agnifilo Intrater LLP, confirmed to Us Weekly on Monday, December 16, that she was retained to represent Mangione in New York. Friedman Agnifilo “will not be making any statements at this time,” the spokeswoman said Us.

Mangione was named the prime suspect in Thompson’s death earlier this month. Thompson was fatally shot outside a Manhattan hotel on December 4. Following a five-day manhunt, Mangione was arrested on December 9.

A New York grand jury indicted Mangione on terrorism charges on Tuesday, December 17, as well as first degree murder. He also faces charges for possessing fake weapons and instruments.

Federal prison consultant Sam Mangel previously explained to Us what conditions are at MDC, stating that contraband and anything with sharp edges or pins are prohibited in the facility.

Visitor stays usually last 30 minutes and are limited to four people at a time, while phone calls are capped at 15 minutes.

Mangel added that staff give prisoners time in the closed recreation yard to play sports tournaments, and that they are free to enjoy dominoes, chess and card games. Religious services are usually offered, and televisions are on and tuned to major sporting events.

Mangione has dominated headlines in recent weeks, with reports that a documentary which is already at work. Film maker Stephen Robert Morsewho is best known for his work on Netflix’s Amanda Knoxdevelops the project.

Meanwhile, Combs has been behind bars since his arrest earlier this year.

In March 2024, several of Combs’ homes—including residences in Miami and Los Angeles—were raided by Homeland Security in connection with a sex-trafficking investigation. In September, Combs was arrested in New York City and charged with sex trafficking and racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has denied all allegations against him. (His trial is scheduled to begin in May 2025.)

Since Combs’ arrest, more than 20 civil cases have been filed against him, and he has denied all charges.

After Diddy was arrested, Agnifilo said during an appearance on CNN The Source With Kaitlan Collins that his client is innocent. “He is innocent,” said Agnifilo. “I believe he is innocent. I believe he is innocent of the charges,” he said. “He’s going to go to trial. And I believe he’s going to win.”
