Low duty: Diego Pacheco to fight Trevor McCumby on July 19 in Texas

Super Middleweight Pacheco against Trevor McCumby has received underground treatment, located on the Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez vs. card. Phumelele Cafu on July 19 in Dazn in the star of Frisco, Texas on July 19.

Undercard again

Pacheco (23-0, 18 kos) would head his card if he was facing one of the dangerous 168 pounds:

  • Christian Milli
  • Osleys Iglesias

It is unclear whether Pacheco’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, sought to get one of those talents. Maybe Hearn feels too soon to launch the 24 -year -old Pacheco with Mbilli or the Cuban Churches because these boys have a lot of power and offensive ability to test it.

With Diego ranked number 1 with WBO at 168, Hearn would be at great risk to combine it with one of the murderer sharks in the division and to have exposed it.

If Pacheco remains unbeaten enough to get a title against Canelo, it will millions of the fight. It will not import if your career occurs afterwards. As things look now, Canelo will never fight Pacheco because he is Mexican and does not like to fight his people. In addition, Pacheco is so unrelated. He has no personality and his resume is steric of names, full of minor opposition from top to bottom.

Pacheco reaches a wide unanimous victory of 12 rounds above Steven Nelson before undefeated in Steven Nelson on January 25. He dominated the 36-year-old, who had never fought against anyone to collect a record of 20-0 swollen.

Matchup McCumby

The use of McCumby (28-1, 21 kos) as an opponent of Pacheco for the July 19 card is not a good look. 32 -year -old McCumby was eliminated in his last struggle for Caleb Plant in the ninth round at the Canelo vs Edgar Berlanga card on September 14 last year.

Pacheco does not make sense to fight McCumby immediately after this loss. Hearn obviously chose McCumby because fans will recognize him from his last struggle and give them the opportunity to compare Pacheco with the plant. The problem is that there is no gain for Pacheco to beat a fighter to have a bad loss. Will not get any credit from a victory.

“I have been working all my life to get to this point in my career where I am confronted with the best fighters in the world,” said Pacheco.

What is Diego’s talking about here? McCumby is not “the best” in the world in 168. It was eliminated by Finesse Fighter Caleb Plan. Pacheco has to take a step further and fight already if he wants to attract the attention of Canelo and Turki Alshikh.

The reason Pacheco has been ignored by Alvarez and left out of the cold is that his opposition has been mediocre and lacks charisma.

Diego obviously cannot do anything about the lack of charisma, because it is what you were born. However, he can put a fire on the back of Hearn and say -he matches him with Iglesias and Mbilli, so he can secure a fight against Canelo before he retires.
