Brittany Dodson willing to share her side of the story about her now Love is blind engage with you the law.
Brittany, 35, appeared on a season 8 of Netflix’s dating experiment, where Pod Connections formed Sight-Tondeen with Mo, also 35, Devin Buckley and Test Adam. Eventually, he accepted Mo’s wedding offer before they met face to face.
“I liked a lot and had chosen Mo first, and then I went back and I was like, ‘Well, let me see what Adam’s purpose is,’” Brittany remembered her blind dating experience during the episode on Thursday, April 3, of the “Jess and Shuot Things” podcast.
He continued, “Because (Executive Producer) Chris Coelan Came in and was like, ‘Don’t choose what you usually do.’ He was going in my head a little. … (He told the women) to be open to new people and new experiences. “
After giving Adam a chance, Brittany realized she had a stronger connection with Mo.
“I feel, like, Mo was saying all the right things,” he said. “(He mentioned) his values around a family, and he drops small things, (a) you can tell people’s voices what races they are. It’s like, ‘yes,’ Cuz you know how we do, ‘and all these things. I’m largely in favor of blacks and everything I want to (make it) a rise. … I loved it.”
Brittany further explained that Mo had told her that he was a Muslim, which they bonded for because her father was also practicing the religion. (The instructor’s mother is a Christian.)
“He’s like, ‘I don’t care anything about that,’ he said of their religious beliefs. “Anything I said about what I was open to (whether) children, everything, it’s like, ‘I don’t care anything about that. Let’s build this life together.”
As the premiere of love is blind in 2020, fans have wondered how effective the concept of quick dating is without actually seeing the other person. Mo offered Brittany in the pods, and, once she received, met personally through the “whole reveal” scene.
“I just felt, like, ‘This is so crazy. I can’t believe I came on this show and did this, and I’m about to engage,'” Brittany remembered. “I go through the real and Mo comes out and I see it. I am not a higher person -ofer… when I saw him (I noticed) you were not as tall as you said that you were. I was like, ‘Okay, anyway,’ and so we walk towards each other.”
At that moment he “signed up” in Brittany’s mind that Mo is alleged to have lied for his height.
“I was still ready to receive it,” he emphasized. “It seemed very nervous and I’m like, ‘I’m a lot of woman.’ … It’s a little shaking.
After engagement, Brittany and Mo – along with A chopped fellow Kylie Schuelke and Brian Sumption – Talked to producers about the cast tour to Honduras. When it was revealed that only five pairs would have to go, Brittany volunteered to stay back while reflecting on Mo’s alleged lies.
Love blindly has been accused of having the problem of diversity, which the Creator defends after a season 8 backlash. “I’m, like, ‘Let’s go back to Minnesota and get to know each other,'” Brittany remembered. “I felt that would be a little more authentic, too, because there were a couple of small signals I was getting … (a) something would come out.”
According to Brittany, she felt in her “heart hearts” that she didn’t need to go on the cast tour on television.
“I told (producers) that I was very interested in getting to know on my own,” he said. “I am not here for the fame. I was trying to find a husband for me.”
At the time, Brittany did not know why the show also chose against the content of their love story in the season 8 episodes. She then decided and continued to date on their own terms.
“We have the luxury of getting to know each other on our own time,” said Brittany. “We don’t have to rush anything or do anything. We don’t do this to anyone but us and he agreed.”
Days later, he called Mo Brittany and told her that he “didn’t think (he could) get there” with her at all because he had never dated black women before.
“It was hurting in that moment to realize and get that clarity stamp that this had been true in Minnesota,” said Brittany. “I knew parts of his story, so I still had an empathy towards him within that moment.”
He has not, for his part, publicly addressed the pair’s relationship or its determination to take their ways apart.
