As wildfires continue to spread across the Los Angeles area, several celebrities are taking to social media to share how they were affected.
“Empty and safe with children, dogs and cats. Praying and thanking for the first responders,” Mandy Moore she wrote in an Instagram Story statement on Wednesday, January 8. In a follow-up post, she added that her family was “grateful for the kindness of friends we had a place to land last night.”
Moore – who shares children Gus, 3, Ozzie, 2, and Lou, 3 months, with her husband, Taylor Goldsmith — continued: “Trying to shield the children from the immense sadness and worry I feel. Praying for everyone in our beautiful city. So gutted about the destruction and loss. Don’t know if our place has arrived.”
Santa Ana wind gusts caused brush fires that started burning quickly on Tuesday, January 7. CNN reported Wednesday that over 50,000 people were under evacuation orders Tuesday night, with over 30,000 remaining under orders through Wednesday.
Among those who were moved was Mark Hamilland informed his Instagram followers that he, his wife, Marilou Yorkand their dog, Trixie, was staying at his daughter Chelsea’s house. “Most horrible fire since ’93 🔥🔥,” he wrote on Wednesday. “STAY SAFE!”
