Liverpool manager Arne Slot knows that he has to give a better example after the details of his exchange with referee Michael Oliver after Merseyside’s derby were revealed by the football association.
Slot handed a ban on two touch parties and a fine of £ 70,000 after Oliver was sent after a dramatic conclusion at the final meeting with neighbors Everton to be held at Goodison Park.
The Dutchman was furious after James Tarkowski threw himself home with a last lawn equality to get a 2-2 draw, causing wild celebrations among Everton fans. VAR confirmed Oliver’s decision not to give a foul against Everton in the accumulation of the target’s target, which also assigned that Tarkowski had been in the part.
Following the final whistle, Abdoulaye Doucoure’s celebrations in front of Liverpool fans gave rise to a melee and Curtis Jones, with the two people who saw Red before the slot was rejected by their statements with Oliver.
A written report from the FA revealed that Oliver had given Everton “f ****** everything”. After shaking Oliver for the second time, Slot said, “If we don’t win the league, I’ll blame you.”
Asked about the exchange at a press conference ahead of the Liverpool Champions League on the 16th of the tie with Paris Saint-Germain, Slot said: “ What I also said in the written report and I can say it once again, the time when it happened I was excited about everything that happened in the last seven or eight minutes and maybe throughout the game.
“I chose to go to the pitch instead of keeping me quietly inside and then talking to Michael.
“Now I don’t have the same emotions anymore, so I think I should give a better example than what I have established and not re -enter the situation.
“It is clear what I wrote and what Michael wrote. Michael has been in the news very recently and I don’t think he helps if I add something now, I have my emotions under control.”
Liverpool pursues a great deal of advanced until the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United on March 16, and built a 13 -point advantage at the top of the Premier League.
But it is still unclear if they will have the striker Cody Gakpo available, as the Reds seek to increase their champions league hopes in the first half against PSG in the Park des Princees.
“He was about to be ready to play again, but, unfortunately, he had to block a shot yesterday and heard some pain again,” Slot said about Gakpo.
“We took him with us to judge as if he can be part of the workforce, but it will be a nearby call.”
