Eddie Howe says Alexander Isak still has a future in Newcastle, but currently Liverpool’s goal cannot train with the workforce and will miss his Premier League Opener against Aston Villa.
Isak recently returned to the Magpies training ground after losing the entire Magpies preseason tour and was formed away from the workforce, at the request of Howe.
Newcastle has rejected an offer of £ 110 million more Liverpool supplements for the Sweden International, who informed the club of his desire to explore options away from Sant James Park.
The 25-year-old did not participate in Newcastle’s final preseason game, a 2-2 tie against Espanyol who saw that young William Osula began and Howe believes that it is unlikely that the 25-year-old will be available for the trip to Villa Park in a week.
“I would like Alex to be playing today, I would like to train tomorrow,” said Toon’s manager. “We would love that the player was with us, to make it absolutely clear. There is no part of me that does not want this result.
“But I don’t see you change before Aston Villa, the current situation we are.”
Despite admitting that the situation is far from being ideal at the present moment, Howe insists that she is still interested in Isak, who scored 27 goals in all competitions last season, to remain a key part of the Newcastle squad.
“We have had discussions and it is clear for the moment we cannot have it involved with the group,” Howe said.
“I don’t know how long it will be. Of course I can’t get involved with the team right now.
“He is training later than the rest of the workforce. There have been debates from the tour. I don’t think disciplinary actions have passed.”
Howe added to Newcastle when Isak has a future at the club: “It’s here, of course, he has a future in Newcastle. From our perspective, we would love to return with the team, but the situation must be right for this to happen.
“He has no fitness problem. I am aware of a feeling within the template that there is something that does not for the benefit of the group.”
Isak remains under a contract with Newcastle for three more years and asked if the club can dig his heels and refuses to sell the striker, Howe said: “I don’t think it’s so simple, if we didn’t have done it a long time ago. I don’t think we’re in a position to do it today.
“I don’t want to go in too much details because I don’t think it’s right. I think I said enough.”
The Failure of the Club to disembark many potential signings, especially Benjamin Sesko, which joins Manchester UnitedHe has requested suggestions that the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund, which has a participation of 85%, is not as committed as it was once.
However, Howe, who admitted that Isak’s situation has evacuated a previously united template, was unequivocal in his denial.
He said: “The owners are very committed, as they have always been.
“This has been a difficult period in which there will be many different opinions on different topics, but I can assure everyone connected with Newcastle that the owners are far behind the project and fight every day by the club.”
