Liverpool is close to an agreement for the Eintracht Frankfurt Hugo Ekitike striker, according to reports.
Athletic reports that the Reds have made an offer of £ 69 million more accessories for the age of 23, in an agreement that could end up to £ 78 million.
The news comes a few days after the Premier League champions saw their approach to Newcastle striker, Alexander Isak, again strengthened the Magpies.
However, it is believed that Frankfurt will be maintained for a figure in the 86 million pounds region for the highest scorer last season, a rate that would be a record sale for the German side, surpassing the share of 82.3 million pounds paid by Paris Saint-Germain by Randal Kolo Mmani in 2023.
Ekitike, a U21 International, scored 22 goals in all the competitions of the last term (including 15 in the league), as Frankfurt finished third in the Bundesliga and won the qualification in the Champions League.

The striker was an unused substitute for Frankfurt’s 3-2 preseason victory over the city, rivaling FRANKFURT on Saturday, and after the game, director Dino Toppmoller set aside his player’s imminent departure.
“He didn’t play, everything else is easy enough to discover,” said Toppmoller.
“It would be a hard loss. In winter, we lost our absolute absolute player to Omar Marmoush.
“It is very possible that now is also history. That’s why I think we will need to reduce expectations a bit.”
At the beginning of the week, the German publication Sport Bild reported that Ekitike has already agreed to terms in a six -year contract until 2031.
In the event that the movement materialized, it would represent another statement of intentions on the side of Arne Slot, following the signings of Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez and Florian Wirtz, the 116 million pounds agreement earlier this summer broke the British transfer record.
The Slot team will seek to keep the Premier League title they won last season, claiming the crown with a 10 -point leadership on the runner -up Arsenal.
