Lineups confirmed as Hojlund dropped with Zirkzee coming on

Manchester United will be looking to build on Thursday night’s 3-1 win against Southampton when they take on Brighton this afternoon.

Ruben Amorim’s men labored for much of the contest against the Premier League’s bottom club, but Amad Diallo’s late hat-trick earned them a comfortable 3-1 win.

The win moved them up to 13th in the table and another three points this afternoon would see them jump up to 11th.

Brighton will present a tough challenge though.

Fabian Hurzeler’s side may not be at their best, but they have found a solidity that has resulted in a league run of five games without a win.

Manchester United team news

Rasmus Hojlund paid the price for his recent disappointing form by being dropped to the bench.

The Danish striker has scored just two goals in La Liga this season and has been replaced by Joshua Zirkzee.

Diogo Dalot returns from suspension and will play the left-back role with Diallo moving further forward to play alongside Bruno Fernandes.

The third change sees Harry Maguire recalled instead of Lisandro MartΓnez.

Manchester United: Onana, Mazraoui, De Ligt, Maguire, Yoro, Dalot, Ugarte, Mainoo, Fernandes, Diallo, Zirkzee.

Brighton team news

Hurzeler made three changes to the side that beat Ipswich in midweek.

They were Adam Webster, Matt O’Riley and Simon Adingra with Lewis Dunk, Yankuba Minteh and former United striker Danny Welbeck.

Brighton: Verbruggen, Dunk, Van Hecke, Veltman, Estupinan, Baleba, Ayari, Minteh, Mitoma, Pedro, Welbeck.
