Lily-Rose Depp is still in awe of watching one of her father’s most famous films.
Johnny Depp’s daughter, 25, starred in the supernatural thriller Nosferatu, but she still harbors hard feelings about the one ’90s film on her father’s long resume: Edward Scissorhands.
The film directed by Tim Burton was released in 1990 and focuses on the life of the unfinished humanoid Edward (Johnny Depp), whose scissor blades instead of hands prevent him from assimilating into suburban life.

“I was traumatized by it,” Depp said Harper’s Bazaar. “Not because I thought he was scary, but because everyone was so mean to him, and I got really upset. I remember being petrified by it, which is weird because I don’t have a lot of memories when I was that young.”

She added: “It’s a difficult childhood memory. Edward is a good guy and Nosferatu is kind of a bad guy, but there’s a part of me that feels a little sympathy for Nosferatu. I mean, do I feel sick?”
“I remember being petrified by it, which is weird because I don’t have a lot of memories when I was that young.”
Depp stars as Ellen Hutter in Robert Eggers’ remake of Nosferatu, which is inspired by Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel Dracula. Ellen has a psychic connection with the vampire Nosferatu.

When asked if Lily-Rose and her father, who has long worked with Tim Burton on the supernatural landscape, share an affinity for the genre, the supermodel admitted that there is comfort in gothic culture.

“Of course, I think you can say that,” said Depp. “We’re very different actors, but of course you’re a product of your environment, and that’s a world I’ve always been very interested in.”
Depp has worked in the entertainment and modeling industry for many years and has long denied that she has a child.

“Every job comes with a set of circumstances, and this (fame) is kind of one of them,” Depp recently said Daily Telegraph. “It was important to me to maintain a sense of privacy and validity and protect (what is truly yours).”
She added: “People are interested in things that they shouldn’t necessarily be interested in, and … the job of an actor is to get into a character and kind of melt into it and make the audience believe that you are that character.

“To do this, it is important to protect the sense of anonymity. They don’t have to know ‘you’ that well because you want them to believe you as another character.’

Depp has starred in a number of films, including Crisis, Voyager, Silent Night, and The Wolf. She was the headliner last year HBO series “Idol” along with Abel Tesfaye, better known as singer The Weeknd.
Depp discussed “no kids” debate in an interview with Elle magazine last year.

“The Internet seems to care a lot about this kind of thing,” she said. “People will have preconceived notions about you or how you got there, and I can say for sure that nothing will get you a role other than having the right character.
“The internet cares a lot more about who your family is than the people who take you places. You may have gotten your foot in the door, but you’re still just getting your foot in the door. There’s a lot of work ahead of you.”
