‘Life Unexpected’ Cast: Where Are They Now?

An Unexpected Life premiered in January 2010 and followed teenage Lux as she sought release from Portland’s foster care system. Her path led her to discover the identity of her biological parentsNate “Baze” Bazile (Polaha) and Cate Cassidy (Appleby), who had been placed in the system after teenage pregnancy and subsequent breakdown. Instead of being released, Lux was placed in joint custody. The show was eventually canceled following its second season.

“I was completely surprised,” creator Liz Tigelaar he told the Los Angeles Times in January 2011. “I always thought we’d keep going and I thought we’d get to our end game, which is with Cate and Baze eventually coming from until their way together on some level.”
