Several liberal media commentators have lashed out at supporters of President-elect Donald Trump in the final days as the year winds down and as Biden prepares to leave the White House.
“It’s inevitable that the hyper-populist, uneducated part of Trump’s base, which is at least a majority, a majority if you make certain arguments, will always be inclined to believe that the word immigrant or visa, “Always in their minds means that brown people bad,” Lincoln Project founder Rick Wilson said before turning to mocking Trump supporters during an appearance on MSNBC.
Wilson responded to differing Republican views on the H1-B visa program for skilled workers, which Trump acknowledged he used in his plots.
“They have this belief that the guy with the GED and his fake Oakley sunglasses and his beard and his pickup truck, the universal Twitter bro that you see in every Twitter avatar, that guy thinks to himself, ‘Oh, I could was a senior software developer at Google if it wasn’t for DEI or immigration.’ It’s absurd,” Wilson said.

Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin, former CNN reporter Don Lemon and MSNBC political analyst Eddie Claude Jr. also took aim at the president-elect’s supporters and movement.

Rubin suggested that Trump supporters could not read during the event in 92NY Center for Culture and the Arts Dec. 15, when she spoke with anti-Trump critic George Conway about the implications of the 2024 election.
“People ask me all the time, why is the media so mumsy-pomsy? And there are two explanations,” began Rubin. “One is that they’re convinced that if they just moved a little bit to the right, all those MAGA readers — now, you’ll notice the contradiction in the term ‘MAGA readers’ — would pick up The Washington Post , and they’d have more readers. Yes, “reader”. And there’s nothing The Washington Post can do to get those people to sign up, but I’m sure they’re out there somewhere.”
Rubin also wrote a columnpublished Dec. 23 for the Post, which advises against turning to the other side to find common ground, especially with Trump allies and supporters.

MSNBC EMPLOYEE URGES MORNING JOE BOYCOTT AFTER TRUMP MEETING: THEY DON’T ‘VALUE’ THEIR AUDIENCE
“You’re so damn stupid and you deserve it. You deserve it because you’re so dumb,” he said. “Yes, I will rejoice at your stupidity.”
He told MAGA fans were part of a cult, and asked, “How stupid and dumb are you?”
MSNBC’s Claude argued Monday that hate, selfishness and greed were an essential part of Trump’s movement.
“So this is a really important point, isn’t it? In the sense that you always had those three components, and Ronald Reagan was able to balance them in interesting ways. And now we have a plutocrat, right, in Elon Musk, right? Greed, you know, pulls, promotes its own interests, and you have right-wing populism, right-wing populism that is sometimes expressed in terms of emphasis on the American worker, but it takes the form of xenophobia, it takes the form of nativism, it takes the form of hate,” said Claude, arguing that the three elements of the modern Republican Party are corporatists, libertarians, and nativists.

MSNBC’s Nicole Wallace strongly agreed with Claude during a conversation on her show Monday and argued that understanding Trumpism is essential to defeating it.
“Thus, before us is a clash of greed and hatred, and this is at the heart of Trumpism, Magism. It’s always been greed, it’s always been selfish, it’s always been hate, and now it’s completely, completely visible,” Claude said.
