LG G5 OLED TV Bumps Brightness Even Higher – Video

This new high-end TV looks like a prime candidate for the best picture quality of 2025.

Hey guys, I really appreciate the picture quality, and this TV here may be the best picture quality I’ve ever seen. This is the LG G5. Now I haven’t had much time to see. It’s a brand new TV, but this OLED TV looks great from what I’ve seen. So the big difference between the G5 and the G4 from last year is brightness. LG said it improved the brightness level by 40%. Now I can try that later. I’m going to take the floor for now, but I’m looking at LG. Demo suite, it looks really bright and of course the impact in combination of the brightness with the black levels of the OLED, so the black of the screen really really dark even in a room with a high ambient light. Now that’s pretty important. This is not the brightest room, but there is some lighting in there and I can see that the black levels are preserved despite the fact that there is some lighting in the room and you have a really great combination of contrast because of those black levels better and again they say they are better than last year. Rejecting that ambient light and preserving that excellent contrast, so I was able to briefly look at the image quality on the G5, and I must say that it is really impressive from what I saw. Now it is not a real review compared to its competitors. It’s just one view of me on television, but it’s really bright. I was watching in live mode, which is the brightest picture quality mode. The most accurate cinema modes will be a little less bright, but all in all, it seems to live up to that improved brightness and of course that excellent black. Levels. I’m pretty excited about all of that. They also added a refresh rate of 165 Hz which for the game could lead to some improvements. But long story short, it’s very similar to last year’s G4, except for that improved brightness and uh rejection of ambient light in the room. Now this TV is available in 55 to 97 inches, but only the 83, 77, 65 and 55 inch sizes preserve all those picture quality benefits. It will be expensive, no prices even come out a little after this. Year, so we’ll see how it tests against the best OLED TVs out there later this year. So this isn’t the only TV I’ve checked here at LG. They also have their transparent TV from last year. Now it’s on the market for around $60,000 so you know, get your wallets out. This is really cool technology that can go from being completely visible to rolling a small black panel to make it look more like a normal TV, really like a first designer television. Still amazing technology, but. Incredibly expensive. They also have their M5 series, which is their wireless display technology, so they say the picture quality is exactly the same as the G. It will be more expensive, of course, because it uses a separate box to send the signals from your game. console, your cable box or whatever to the TV wirelessly. So they improved that wireless technology a bit. They say that now you can put that box in a closet, which is very nice as long as there is no metal in the closet, and that will allow the transmission to be between the box and. The TV actually comes back exactly like an HDMI cable from the demo they had installed here. Pretty cool for that. LG also announced the C5 series of OLED TVs. It was my favorite flagship TV for the money last year, very similar to the 2024 model, although they say like the G, it’s a bit brighter, so let’s check it out again. It is also available in a wider range of screen sizes. That’s a lot of OLED TVs from LG here at CES 2025. I can’t wait to check them out later this year.
