Leslie Bibb thought Sam Rockwell made George W. Bush ‘sexy’

“I said it was very strange to me ‘because when Sam was playing your father, I never thought George Bush, like, sexy,” Bibb, 50, shared on the episode on Thursday, March 27, Today with Jenna & FriendsReferring to Rockwell’s portrait of the former President in the 2018 film Hymn. “But then, suddenly, I was like, ‘What’s happening?’ He is in a western shirt and has this cute way of talking and he was eating chicken wings.

Bush Hager, 43, was entertained by Bibb’s comments, telling her joking that he should have asked Rockwell, 56, “bring that outfit home.”

Rockwell’s portrait of Bush scored multiple acolates for him, including his second Oscar nomination for the best supporting actor. The film gained a total of eight Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, and took one home for the best make -up and hairstyles.

Bibb and Rockwell have been together since 2007 but they have never married. Previously the pair divided the screen together in 2010’s Iron man 2. Bibb is currently starring on season 3 of HBO’s The white lotusand rockwell Have made a memorable cameo During the March 16 chapter of the show. His character, Frank, made shocking disclosures of his sexual experimentation and captivity during a conversation with his friend, Rick (Walton Goggins).

On TodayBibb revealed that Rockwell was not initially headed for the small role, as he was about to film a film in South Africa while she was in Thailand for the show.

“But I was like, ‘This monologue that this guy Frank says and I think that’s what the whole show, the whole season, means. It’s so amazing. I think it’s one of the best things I’ve ever read and he’ll probably go down as one of the best things on TV,” he said. “And I was like, ‘I hope they get a good actor.’”

Then the show’s creator contacted Bibb, Mike Whiteand executive producer David Bernad about Rockwell playing the part. “I was, like, on a treadmill walking. I was like, ‘if he doesn’t, you can’t go mad at me,’ ‘because I was like,’ it’s going to do what he does, ‘” he said. “But I thought Sammy had just been killed.”
