National Basketball Association has announced before The two regular season games between Orlando Magic and Memphis Grizzlies for the 2025-26 season will be played in Berlin, Germany and London, England. First, both teams will face January 15, 2026 in Berlin. Three days later, on January 18, the teams will return to London again.
The NBA also pointed out its European Plan for 2027 and 2028. By 2027, the regular season matches will take place in Manchester, England and Paris, France. By 2028, the League will hold matches in Berlin and Paris. The Games will take place in Berlin’s Uber Arena, O2 in London, Manchester’s Co-Op Live and The Accor Arena in Paris.
“Announcing the next three regular seasonal games in Europe reflects the incredible impetus and appetite of the NBA basketball in France, Germany, the United Kingdom and the whole region,” said George Aivazoglou, CEO of the NBA of Europe and the Middle East. “We hope to welcome the Grizzlies and the magic in Berlin and London and to involve local fans, players and communities through the Games and the surrounding events.”
This will be the first game of Grizzlies regular season that is played outside North America. The franchise participated in the preseason parties held in Spain, Puerto Rico and France.
“We appreciate the opportunity to represent the NBA and represent the city of Memphis and the State of Tennessee in an international stage in Berlin and London,” said Grizzlies President Jason Wexler. “To undertake this rare opportunity to bring Memphis to an international audience, it will require the team to be away from MLK’s day. However, we are committed to supporting the MEMPHIS community during the MLK Day holidays, while the team travels and we hope that the Grizzlies will again anchor the MLK day programming on 2027.”
Previously, Orlando Magic had played in 13 games outside the United States and Canada. This will be Orlando’s first party in Berlin and her third in London.
“To make Orlando Magic and the NBA play a regular seasonal game in our hometown of Berlin means everything to us. Growing here, we dreamed of moments like this,” said Franz and Moritz Wagner, who were born in Germany. “It is a great honor to represent Berlin and Germany and to show how much basketball in the city and the country we love. We hope we can inspire children in the way we inspired us by seeing the games from afar.”
At this time, the dates and participants of the games of 2027 and 2028 have not been announced. The league is expected to reveal this information before the start of the 2026-27 and 2027-28 seasons, respectively.
Both the Grizzlies and the magic come to the seasons where they reached the playoffs. At the Eastern Conference, magic fell to the Boston Celtics on the second floor 4-1. In the west, the Grizzlies were devastated by the eventual NBA champion, Oklahoma City Thunder.
