Laverne Cox steps away from the red carpet spotlight E! in front of the 2025 Golden Globes.

“It is with great gratitude that I have decided not to return as host of the #LiveFromE red carpet broadcasts,” Cox, 52, wrote via Instagram on Thursday, January 2. “I am so proud of the work we did during my three-year term. I would like to express my sincere thanks to everyone at @nbcuniversal, @eentertainment and @denofthievestv for your incredible support.”

In his office, the Orange Is The New Black the actress shared a video montage of clips featuring her one-on-one interviews from the Oscars, Emmys, Grammys and other awards shows.

“These moments remind me of the fact that it’s an incredible privilege to be able to talk to some of the best artists in the world about their work, navigating the pressures of success, etc,” he said. “I’m so excited to continue growing, evolving and exploring great opportunities as an actress, artist, host and speaker. I hope you will all continue to accompany me on my evolving journey.”

Cox added that her next role will be in the Amazon Prime comedy series Clean Slate premieres February 6.

In Hollywood, however, the show must go on. E! publish that this weekend Live OE!: Golden Globes are jointly hosted by Access Hollywood‘s Zuri Hall and a comedian Heather McMahon.

The pair are expected to interview several nominees as they step on the red carpet.

“Oh, we’re so BACK baby!” McMahan, 37, wrote via Instagram on Monday, December 30. “Can’t wait to see you on the red carpet this Sunday for the 82nd Golden Globes! ✨ #goldenglobes #livefrome #redcarpet.”

During her time working the E! red carpet, Cox became famous for asking actresses, “What story are you telling with your outfit tonight?”

The actress herself would also turn heads with her stunning – and often outdated – dresses.

When she took over from Giuliana Rancic in 2021, Cox shared how excited she was to have the opportunity to interview Hollywood’s biggest stars.

“For many years I would wake up early on award show days, have my snacks in place and watch the E! all day,” he said in a statement statement at the time. “I dreamed of walking red carpets. … I can’t wait to get started while hopefully serving up fashion fantasies for the ages, honey.”

Golden Globes 2025 airs live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel on CBS Sunday, January 5, at 8 pm ET.
