Netflix’s Unknown Number: High School Catfish examined Lauryn licari is cyber -fated and disturbed by the mother Kendra Licari – But where are they now?

How was Kendra excluded?
In 2020, Lauryn and Owen were both 13 when they became victims of cyberbullying. The catfish specifically disturbed Lauryn over her romance with Owen, which caused them to question whether he was a fellow student or an adult in his hometown of Beal City, Michigan.
Kendra, who was interviewed in the Docuseries, deny sending the initial messages. She confirmed that she harassed her daughter and Owen on social media as a way to get officers to take the original Catfish seriously before he worsened.
School Senior School Inspector Bill Chillman got a different attitude while being interviewed for Unknown numbercalled it “Cyber Munchausen case.”
“She wanted her daughter to need her in such a way that she was ready to hurt her, and this is the way she chose to do so, against trying to make her physically ill, which is a typical Munchausen behavior,” she said in Dock August 2025.
Where is Kendra now?
Lauryn’s mother was asked about the texts she sent prompts her daughter to harm herself, and said to an unknown director a number, “I can say that I was not afraid to hurt herself.”

In the meantime, Kendra claimed to have been raped at the age of 17 and her behavior about the outcome of mental illness was without a diagnosis that resulted from her trauma.
“I didn’t want her to go through that process, and I think that led me not to know how to handle things,” said Kendra, adding that she was “afraid to let (Lauryn) grow up” because of “what could happen to her.”
Lauryn, for her part, to begin with said in the dock She would like to see her mother “when the time is right.”
“Hopefully I and my mother can rebuild our relationship, because I feel I definitely miss me,” he shared. “Now that she’s out (from prison), I want her to get the help she needs, so then, when we see each other, it doesn’t go back to the old ways and how it was before.”
Lauryn added: “Being without that relationship in my opinion is very hurt, and I think rebuilding our relationship will help both of us. I love it more than anything.”

Where is Lauryn now?
Speaking of Lauryn, her mother’s arrest brought her more closely with her father, Shawn Licari, who received full custody. Lauryn is currently dating a new person from secondary school and plans to attend college and study criminology.
Director Skye Borgman spoke to Tudum Netflix in August 2025 about how lauryn has been Make “a lot of critical thinking” for what happened between her and her mother since being interviewed for the dock.
“She is at the start of calculating that she can be the one with care, that she can make all the decisions for herself and her relationship with her mother,” shared Borgman. “I think that will be a very interesting place for Lauryn to explore.”
Where is Owen now?
While Owen’s relationship with Lauryn ended before her mother had his dad -carried out as their bully, the duo has continued no contact in the years since.
“I see it in the porches and stuff, but we have no interaction at all,” said Lauryn before Owen added, “I was crazy in Lauryn. I don’t think I’ll talk to her in the future.”
Owen has graduated from secondary school since then and is now attending college in Michigan.
