Ash laurenNewest song “Cool Story, Bro” not the perfect rage anthem alone – it’s also the most Supermarket Cast reunion.
In Weekly USthe unique appearance of the Music video “Cool, Bro”Ash, 42, hit back following a “very destructive cut” with a very cathartic track.
“At one time in the end, (my ex) told me (what) the most modest thing I’ve ever told him. I answered, ‘Cool story, Bro,’” Ash remembered her recent division. “I thought it was so interesting. I was like, ‘It’s okay.’ That’s the most modest thing I’ve ever told him.
The interaction served as inspiration For the song, with Ash adding, “If you listen to the words, it’s like the letter you write to a former member you never intend to send. Only you are on your most minor and mean. You put it all down but you don’t really send – or I never send those letters. But you feel better just writing it.”
“Cool Story, Bro” documents the period of time after a difficult breakdown.
“It’s starting where, like, two weeks out and that first verse is almost a kind of pathetic. I think that’s transferable too. You like, ‘What can I do? How can I change? What can I do to get you back?’” Ash explained. “Then the second verse starts talking for two months out and then it’s like, ‘Wait a moment, this was small. Maybe I don’t want this person back.’ Just try to summarize what it is to go through that kind of blind hearted heartbreak in real time.
In addition to the catchy words – and the transferable -, ash surprised too Us with on screen cameos of Ben Feldman, Nico Santos, Colton Dunn, Nichole Sakura, Mark McKinney, Kaliko Kauahi and Jon Barinholtz.
“Actually I got those clips a while back for a different part of my music project, which didn’t happen eventually,” Ash remembered. “But I was very lucky to have things I could definitely use. I was very lucky and humble that my dear friends who are all featured in the video are very keen to make a video roasting me. I’m very lucky that so much amazing lifelong friendship made on that show.”
Ash rose to Stardom playing Dina on NBC’s seated comedy, who followed workers in fiction Large box chain shop. Her love of music, however, is something that Ash has explored more recently after writing songs for years before.
“Music has always been a huge part of my life. I’ve written songs since I was 13 when I got my first guitar – and even when shooting a supermarket. I would come home at the end of the day and relax by playing my guitar and writing songs,” he remembered. “Before 2023, I didn’t really play them for anyone.
He added: “That idea of conveying something that is so real to you and vulnerability and raw was a completely different thing. I love to connect with that different part of me and express it to people. The live performance of my music is the greatest fun. When you act on television, it’s an amazing and wonderful experience, but there is no feedback.
Ash is still focusing on exploring both career paths, however.
“I learned something with every song I gave out,” he explained. “I started making music and then there was a kind of this perception that I stopped acting. I was like, ‘Why can’t I get it all?’ I’m hosting a new baking show in Canada and I have a lot of things going.
