Lamont Roach’s team failed it and yet

By Frank Bay: In Knockdown Rule 3 with Mario Lopez and Steve Kim, the publisher of Ring Magazine Dougie Fischer, he coincided with me about Lomaont Roach’s piece. Now, listen, this does not mean that Say Tank Davis won the struggle or sound as the tank Davis Groupies in the comments section that he claims is the boxing face, and adds that it must be removed -the champion.

The Davis tank deserved to lose, but he obtained his treatment with PBC A-Side and, he deserved, so. As for Lamont Roach, he also deserved to lose. The simple and simple truth is that Lamont Roach did not do enough to win the fight in a compelling way. This is the inconvenient and unpopular truth.

The fights are marked in the round, and for the first five rounds, Lamont Roach landed an average of less than 5 strokes per round, and in one case the screen struck that he had landed zero punches near the end of the round. Let it sink, readers. This was a pathetic and unlocked struggle for most of its duration.

What is called in sports terms is playing not to miss more than playing to win. Roach is very guilty of this and it should be noted. Most boxing fans who entered the struggle knew that the Davis tank would get all calls and dare if we say that we are allowed to blame their way to a victory.

Let me say it again: we all knew it, so it is certain that Roach and his team should have been brain deaths so they would not be at least aware that they would not get the benefit of the doubt if they were near. During the fight, it was true that Davis was telling Roach: “You will not win any.” The lifelong boxing fans are aware of this little dirty secret about our beloved sport. Yes, there is corruption and money conversations. Energy and star ticket sales matter more than w or l l. We saw it before the day Paddy Donavan was most likely cheated by a victory because the referee made a DQ call.

Apart from the blatant cheating on the referee Steve Willis, it also came out that we cannot trust the commissions to do the right things like the New York Commission, when he faced the obvious traps, he stated, had “technical difficulties” at that exact time and could not make the call during the fight. We pay for the fans to leave thick and take it to the chin. So, are you telling the fans that they bought the PPV $ 100 struggle, at the most stage of boxing, not some local gym with club fighters, but had a team of television production members who pass on the world, top -notch professionals who work in a live feed and the commission had technical problems at the worst possible time? Sorry I don’t buy it.

I will tell you that Lamont Roach knows that he did not do enough during the fight. There comes a time when a fighter must be aware of the situation. Roach had to put his stamp in the fight and leave -certainly in the minds of anyone who was the legitimate winner. The audience must be honest with themselves and acknowledging that Roach was simply ready to do what needed to be done, and he left everything in the ring.

This is what we saw with Artur Beterbiev against Dmitry Bivol. The two men settled nearby and did not have the necessary risk to close the program, as David Benevidez said against David Morrell. In this case, Benevidez was forced to close the program due to its fall because it was exhausted. But Morrell, facing certain doom, decided to leave everything in the ring that night. In these cases, the fans win, but so do the fighters. Fans want to see Morrell again despite losing.

Roach settled to leave a tie. Therefore, we should refuse to cry for Roach, as he decided that a victory against the tank would go to twelve rounds. The Tank Davis said so much, pointing out that Roachean’s father danced and celebrated the draw as if they had won. We recently saw that Edgar Berlanga did the same, going to the distance with Canelo Alvarez. Movies have been made about the boxers that are celebrated to travel the distance with legends such as Ali (Rocky’s base) and Sugar Ray Leonard (the base of “The Fighter” by Marky Walburg).

But this is exactly when the truth is to talk. For example, in the barrier, the former Champ, Julian Williams, he was giving his brain for a young, hungry tellez. It happened to me and the advertiser Joe Goosen that Williams quietly left and settled in hitting and simply surviving, and I succeed. What bothered me was that the man who considered a little fraud was his coach, “Breadman” Edward, known among Hardcore Boxing fans. He was constantly asked how a bleeding and abused Williams did.

Bread-Man told his fighter nearby. OK, I get, for example, a game with children playing where the score does not matter. But during a boxing game, this was completely unpleasant and dangerous. Williams was beating his life and his friend lied to him. If Edwards had been honest, it could have allowed its burden to save some brain cells and leave it gracefully. Williams would also have realized the score. This returns to Roach without having anyone to blame, but himself.

In addition, the corner of Davis’s two men was in disorder during the fight, as his corner told him that he was ahead and that he missed the rounds. A bewildered Davis was under the guidance of inept men, which cost him what he said would have been changing the game. Something honest that good Cornermen do is to say to their fighter that the struggle is near, or worse that it can be losing and that he needs to close the show. Heck, we even saw that his excellence lost and called the Hamzah Sheeraz team, who was losing two points against Carlos Adames, who fans pointed out very suspicious.

However, this is what is needed in big fights. Is it a risky advice and would jeopardize what could be a fine victory of the knife? Yes, but it is the honest answer and the fighter is forced to decide. Play -surely and cry and cry if you lose or leave it all in the ring and possibly do it, but at least you will assure the victory and leave any questions to everyone. These things are forever. Our biggest memories are the trainers who have the time of the fork with their man. It looks when Mickey tells Rocky: “You are blowing it, boy !!!”

Roach, you blew it, boy. Landing zero punches near the end of a round is not a way to beat the star of list A. and by struggle fire, anyone who is not willing to say -the truth of the matter. Your legacy depends on it and, most importantly, your health depends on it.
