Lamont Roach said on social media that after surpassing Gervonta Davis in his resale, he will climb two divisions to face the November struggle winner among Wbo Welterweight’s champion, Brian Norman Jr. and Devin Haney.
Roach’s comment was known with Haney’s laughter and confusion (32-0, 15 kos). It is not a struggle in which he will focus if he was victorious against Norman Jr. (28-0, 22 kos). It would probably focus on the highest available money struggle, which would be a resale with Ryan Garcia or a confrontation against Teophimo Lopez.
“After beating Tank, I’m fighting against Devin Haney and Brian Norman. There I will say it again,” Lamont Roach said on social media. “You can cut it, you can do whatever it is. That’s what I’m doing. You’ve heard it here.”
Roach has no power, appeal of fanatics
Turki Alralikh has not mentioned who wants the winner of the Haney-Norman Jr. To face below, but it is unlikely to be focused on using Roach as an opponent. He is not well known to casual boxing fans, and his style of defensive struggle would make it boring. It has no power in 135 and would be completely overwhelmed against a great punch as Norman Jr. to 147.
Norman Jr., would not be sporty to see that Roach was beaten, as he would not be able to soak the punishment that his last opponent, Jin Sasaki, did before stopping. Roach Cova almost immediately and fans would feel booted if the event is sold to PPV.
Roach (25-1-2, 10 kos) and Light WBA champion, Gervonta Davis, will fight in August for a resale. In their previous struggle on March 1, they fought up to a draw at 12 rounds. Many fans felt Roach was stolen by a victory. There was the knee incident in the new round where the tank took a knee after beating with a roach fist.
Davis headed for his corner without asking for a time waiting for the referee for having taken his eyes off. This should have resulted in a point deduction because Davis took a knee. The referee lost control of the situation. The scores were 114-114, 115-113 for the tank and 114-113.
