Lamine Yamal scores, but Barcelona celebrated Rayo Vallecano

Barcelona went down to the league for the first time this season, as they were retained to a 1-1 tie of Rayo Vallecano Sunday.

Lamine Yamal scored a 40th minute penalty to give Hansi Flick the advantage of halftime, but Rayo scored a goal 67 minutes from the substitute Fran Pérez to win a draw at Vallecas stadium.

The hosts, who finished eighth in the first Spanish flight, had a goal from Isi Palazon undoed only five minutes, while Flick had goalkeeper Joan Garcia to thank after the boat stopper made a series of savings very late to keep the score.

It was an entertaining competition in Madrid, where a few kilometers away the day before, the great rivals of the Catalan Club El Real Madrid came behind to beat Mallorca to maintain its perfect start to the season and move to the top of the table.

The result means that Barcelona sits in fourth place after three games. Marcus Rashford, with a loan during the season of Manchester United, started on the bench and appeared during the last half hour.

But the International of England could do little to change the result of the game while the hunting of a first goal in the colors of Barça continues.

Flick’s side is in action after the international pause when they host Valencia on September 13, while Real Madrid travels to Real Sociedad.
