Lamine Yamal has dismissed the hint of Barcelona’s head, Hansi Flick, who threatened to derail their commitment to retain the title of the league.
Barça was held at a 1-1 tie at Rayo Vallecano on the weekend – Yamal putting the visitors ahead of the place, but thanked the goalkeeper Joan Garcia for preserving a point with a series of great savings.
Then, a clearly impressed Flick said to his press conference: “The most important thing is that once the transfer window is closed, everyone is committed to this club.
Athletic reported that the message was also passed on to the locker room players in stronger terms.
Yamal admitted that Barça was not at their best in Vallecas, but he does not think he was due to players who believed their own drum.
He told RTVE: “I think it has more to do with the fact that we did not start the season with the intensity with which we finished the previous one, more than with the egos in the locker room.
“After a tie, you will get some heat, in the end you have to win. We have removed seven points again in very difficult stages. He (Flick) is right we did not play well, but it can happen. You must recover the level as soon as possible, it was not due to Egos.”
Barça have played their first three league games of the season away from home as they wait for the Camp Nou to be reformed.
Therefore, a return of two wins and a draw should not be rejected and Yamal says that there is a great determination to return to the back.
He added: “We want more because we have not come to win four champions leagues or four ligas in a row, we are very young. The league is very long, we must be consistent.”
Yamal has attracted unwanted attention this summer after spending a single star of 12 years old his senior and inviting a team of dwarves to perform at his 18th anniversary party.
There were suggestions that the Barça hierarchy was concerned that the International Spain was distracted by its new meeting, although it did not stop the club from drawing to Yamal to a new six -year contract.
And the candidate Gold Ballon reiterated his statement that he does not listen to critics.
“Lately, people talk more about what I do out of the field than I do,” he said. “But they talk about me for what I have done.
“If I played in Mataro (the city where he grew up), my birthday party would not have this impact.
“What they say does not affect me. I have realized that you will talk about everything that happens in my life and that it is often invented. I do not care much, in the end I have said the day of my renewal, both for the good and for the bad, I only listen to my circle because they are the ones who really know things and what matters.
“It is in my favor and this helps me a lot because you will never feel that Lamine is sad or happy for something someone else said. I follow my path, I continue with my mindset that I think is what has taken me here.”
Yamal is currently encountered with the workforce of Spain and will be a key member of the Luis de la Fuente staff, as they face trips to Bulgaria and Turkey in the World Cup that are classified next week.
