Vanderpump Rules alum Lala Kent evacuate Los Angeles with her daughters in the midst of the recent wildfires.
“This morning, Sosa woke up and was really struggling to breathe. I made the decision to pack up my family and come to Palm Springs, based strictly on the air quality,” Kent, 34, wrote via his Instagram Stories on Thursday, January 9. “This is where I’ll be staying until L.A. safe again.”
Kent is based mostly in Los Angeles with daughters Ocean, 3, and Sosa, 4 months.
Wildfires in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood it erupted on Tuesday, January 7, quickly destroying many buildings. Many celebrities lost their homes in the natural disaster as others sought shelter outside the city limits following evacuation orders.
“This is one of the most devastating situations I have ever seen,” Kent added on Thursday. “At this point, if you weren’t directly affected, you know someone who has lost everything. I’m obsessed with how we are it could be so underprepared. My heart breaks for my community. Neighborhoods that people have called home for decades, no longer exist. It’s unimaginable.”
According to Kent, she “hasn’t been directly affected” and is trying to “feel grateful for that.”
“It’s hard because of what I see other people going through,” the Bravo star wrote. “At times like this, all you want is to go home for comfort and 1,000 people no longer have their safe place. There are looters, lack of water and lack of preparation. I’m sad, but I’m angry.”
While Kent promised to “save that rant for a later date,” she expressed her gratitude for the first responders.
“For now, all I want to do is say thank you to our firefighters and first responders. Heroes of our city,” Kent concluded Thursday. “And to all those affected – I know you feel alone. You are not alone.”
Kent shares Ocean with ex-fiancée Randall Emmett a she gave birth to Sosa in September 2024. After using a sperm donor to conceive her second child, Kent underwent intrauterine insemination (IUI).
“The outside world is funny. Not everyone is as progressive as we are, and I felt, ‘Okay, I’m bringing this baby into the world because I so badly want him to be here. But I also want to eliminate as many questions as I can,'” Kent said on a March 2024 episode of his “Give They Lala” podcast.. “(I wanted her) to have the same aesthetic look as me, my mother, Ocean. The world is already hard when you come from a completely normal family. I don’t want to make it harder for them.”
