Jason and Kylie Kelce
Courtesy of Kylie Kelce /InstagramIt was hardly love at first Jason Kelce and his wife, Kylie Kelce.
“(My friends and I) were messing around, so I swiped right,” Kylie, 32, said of coming across her now-husband’s Tinder account during the Sunday, January 12, episode of the “Sunday Sports Club” a podcast. “We matched (and) I sent him a pick-up line. I said, ‘I need a LifeAlert. I’ve fallen for you and I can’t get up.’”
Jason, 37, apparently wasn’t a fan of Kylie’s opening line.
“He texted back and was like, ‘No, you had to try harder,'” Kylie was recalled to the NFL co-wife Allison Kuch. “Then I sent a message, ‘If I told you I work for UPS. Would you let me handle your package?’ He was like, ‘Much better. I like that much better.’ … And here we are, almost four children later.”
Jason and Kylie were a match on the dating app in 2015 during his early stint as a center with the Philadelphia Eagles. At the time, Kylie was a student at Cabrini University but never realized the extent of Jason’s professional football career until meeting in person. (He retired in 2024 after 14 seasons playing for the Philly team.)
“His profile bio on Tinder said he wanted to hug and have intimate conversations about having babies and it was sarcastic but ultimately very ironic,” Kylie said. “But then, we continued to send messages and she was, like, playful, getting to know you (conversations) and after a while I kept thinking to myself that his pictures looked familiar. “
Kylie and her friends had tried to look for Jason online using “all the information they had,” which led straight to the Eagles.
“My friends and I, of course, were like, ‘It’s a catfish,'” said the host of the “Not Gonna Lie” podcast. “So, when he said, ‘You should meet us at this bar,’ my one friend who’s like my ride or die friend … she was like, ‘We have to go because if it’s him, it’s funny (and) if it’s not him, it’s even funnier.”
Kylie met Jason at a local bar in Philly hours after her team holiday party. Like he has mentioned before on his and brother Travis Kelcepodcast “New Heights” several times, he fell asleep on top of the bar within 45 minutes. His teammate at the time Beau Allen was enlisted to “carry a fireman” him home.
Jason eventually apologized to Kylie for his intoxicationasking for a second chance on a first impression which, in the end, went much smoother. Per Kylie, they talked non-stop for three hours – and continued to talk during subsequent dates.
“The year I was an RA (at Cabrini) … he would come to campus and, like, stay in my dorm more than once,” Kylie recalled. “I’d have people in class two days later saying, ‘Oh, so he was talking about how they were walking to their 8am and (saw) Jason Kelce walking across campus to go to’ w truck.’ I was like, ‘This guy has to love me because why would there be another hell on (campus).'”
Jason and Kylie eventually married in 2018, a year before welcoming their daughter Wyatt. Girls Ellie and Bennett followed in 2021 and 2023, respectively, and are currently waiting another baby girl in 2025.
