Says Maclachlan, 66 Weekly US Only on the love of God we present New York City headquarters earlier this month that the charity – founded in 1985 in response to the HIV/AIDS crisis in New York City – “actually echoed” with a Gruber, 58, who lost her older brother to AIDS.
“I didn’t know her brother, but she obviously talked about it, so she has a strong connection there,” explained Maclachlan Us. “I learned about the organization through my wife and Blaine TrumpWho’s a friend, and she told me a little bit. “
After hearing about Gruber’s voluntary work, Maclachlan felt it was a “worthwhile” case and followed the same.
Gruber has been on the love of the god we have borne on the board of directors since 2001. She spoke honestly about the loss of her older brother, Jeff, to assist in an open letter published through the charity’s website on the World Aids Day in 2020. (Jeff was diagnosed in 1988 when Gruber was 20. He died months later.)
Throughout the years, many celebrities have been delighted to give their free time to give back to the community in some way – including volunteering in food banks. Chrissy Teigen recently volunteered and her team from her food company volunteering at LA Food Bank in November 2023. ”
The love of God we achieve aims to “improve the health and well -being” of those living with serious illness, including heart disease, HIV/AIDS and cancer. The non-sectarian NYC-based non-profit Helps relieve “hunger and malnutrition” by providing free, medically tailored meals and nutritional counseling to New York affected by serious and chronic illness. They recently achieved their 40 millionth meals.
“I love the idea that it’s about a simple process. We make food, we get it for people, and hopefully it makes them feel better,” Maclachlan continued. “Along the way, there is a nice interaction or personal interaction between the people who bring the food and the people who can’t get out of their house. It’s a win-win.”

Alex GilkeyMaclachlan and Gruber have also had their son, 17 -year -old Callum, related to giving back. “He has great empathy in him, and really feels for people and their situations,” said the actor Us. “And as parents, we lead by example. So Desiree’s lead is my leader too. He sees what we do and (what) the people around him (do).”
It wasn’t just the family who inspired Maclachlan to volunteer. He revealed that an AIDS crisis affected a publisher with which he worked early in his career. “It was at the time when no one knew the disease… and (he died),” Maclachlan remembered. “I can’t imagine that anyone in the world doesn’t know someone who has been affected by this disease.”
Maclachlan was in the love of God that we present on headquarters on June 25 with his wife and full photo production company.
“It’s really fun, especially when groups do. Obviously, the full picture is here, Morgan Stanley is over here. There is no competition, of course,” said the actor Us For his voluntary work. “It’s nice to be able to sit and do something out of the office. Food brings people together. Even preparation brings people together.”
To Maclachlan, given his passion for cooking Good use is an extra bonus.
“I love cooking. I love preparing. I love doing things, especially to my family,” he told Us. “My dad was my way in. He loved to give time in the kitchen. He was a very good cook.… My dad was really at home in the kitchen.
