Kristen Bell ends the year by giving a helping hand to people in need.
Recently, the actress, 44, joined the social media personality Tommy Marcusbetter known as Quentin Quarantino, to donate thousands of dollars to people struggling to pay their medical bills. In DM screenshots shared by Marcus via Instagram On Monday, December 30, Marcus reached out to Bell to help her raise money for one health-related GoFundMe page of the day.
Bell was amenable to the idea and subsequently completed the rest of the fundraising goal of one GoFundMe page. “We need to do more stuff like this, the world needs it 💕,” he wrote in one DM.
In another message, Bell asked, “How can I give 100,000 to people who need it for medical bills? I want to make sure we do it the best way how do we do it??”
Marcus responded by suggesting that for every fundraiser he posts on his page, Bell can “shut him out” once he reaches the halfway mark. “For example, the next one needs about $50k raised, so once it hits $25k from followers, you give $25k and we move on to the next one?” he asked.
An excited Bell replied, “YES!! TOMMY LEAVES TO DO IT!”
According to one GoFundMe page Shared on Marcus’ profile, Bell donated $20,932 to help a third grader named Mia fight leukemia, helping the fundraiser surpass its $50,000 goal. Bell helped another page reached its fundraising target, giving $24,182 to a man named Murilo who is also battling leukemia.
Thanks to Bell’s help, Marcus said his page’s latest fundraising campaign “has the chance to be some of the most important and impactful work we’ve ever done.” He wrote in the resulting Instagram post: “The more you can give, share, like, comment, do anything you can to make this a movement – the better chance it has of becoming a huge thing, of having generous people profile. like Kristen, get involved, and overall, be a movement we are creating to save and change so many lives.”
Marcus continued to bash Bell in an Instagram Story on Monday, writing, “Thank you @kristenanniebell for listening to my idea, deciding to be a catalyst to help these (people) get to where they need to be, and for helping us to start this movement.”
Bell, for her part, shared links to Mia and Murilo’s GoFundMe pages via her Instagram Story on Monday.
Bell’s generous donations come shortly after she phoned in the holidays with her husband, Dax Shepardand their daughters, Lincoln, 11, and Delta, 10. As well as visiting the festive botanical garden Descanso Gardens in La Cañada Flintridge, California, Bell was inspired by The Wizard of Oz a Wicked about her family’s Christmas tree.
She shared a glimpse of her creation via Instagram on Wednesday, December 25, she captioned it with pink and green heart emojis. As well as the Yellow Brick Road and Wicked Witch of the East legs poking out from under the tree skirt, the tree was decorated with pink and green ornaments and topped with Glinda and Elphaba inspired angels.
