Kompany asks for approach after winning the “most important game of the season”

Vincent Kompany insists that his side of the Bayern Munich focused on finishing his work after having won the comfortable 3-0 winners of his national rivals in the first stage of the 16 Champions League round.

Harry Kane scored a double, one from the penalty spot, on both sides of a Jamal Musiala strike, as the Kompany team took a significant step towards the last eight of the European club elite competition.

For Leverkusen, it turned out to be a thorough evening in the Allianz Arena for Xabi Alonso and Co., composed of the red card in the second half of North Mukiele, while the German champions were with a mountain to climb the second stage next week.

Perhaps the Bayern will kick himself that did not increase his advantage after Palhinha lost a glorious opportunity to do four in the stop time of the second half.

Another cause of concern in a highly pleasant evening for Kompany was the injury to goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, who had to be replaced after suffering from what is believed to be a beef voltage while celebrating the second goal.

“We have done a lot of things right, otherwise this team cannot be overcome,” said Bayern Boss after the game.

“We need to repeat what we did well today next week. It’s not the time of praise. Of course, boys can be happy, but we will change our approach to Bochum and then to Tuesday.

“It is only the first half, we remain completely focused on the second section.

“It was the most important game of the season so far, but we hope we have more important games.

“We stay calm as we always did and have shown that we are always ready”

Bayern Travel in Leverkusen for the second stage Tuesday, with the winners to play Inter or Feyenoord in the quarter of the final.

The Italian side has a 2-0 lead in the second stage after a comfortable victory in Rotterdam.
