Jonathan Trott criticized Shubman Gill for his aggressive behavior towards Zak Crawley, saying that India’s pattern had crossed the line. Trott compared Gill’s behavior to that of an “previous Indian captain”, entertaining Kohli.
“ A little play, but I think England, for me, does not know what happened when England was in the field, whether they were decreasing it. I do not like the performance of Shubman Gill. I only think that as a captain, you put the tone. As I said before, pointing to the fingers and achieving a little confrontation, much like a previous captain, as if he were in the face of the opposition, ” he said.
“And I don’t think this is the case. I think it sets a bad tone. And I’m about to be competitive and be hard on the pitch. I just think sometimes you have to climb over. But it certainly configures a good day for tomorrow,” he added.
Former Captain of India, Anil Kumble, said that England was reluctant to face even a single before the collisions, and added that Jofra Archer was disappointed after taking a wick. Kumble added that the contest remains evenly balanced.
“At the end of 2 and a half tests, exactly in the middle of the series, there is nothing to differentiate. And yes, you know, from an English point of view, they wanted to deal with one,” Kumble said.
“They probably did not want to face one, but they ended up, because even Jofra Archer, when he got this Wicket, was disappointed that he would get a wick. So, in that sense, it would be great to watch over the next two days,” he added.
A total of 32 casualties were lost due to slow rates. Seven points were lost on day 1, followed by 15 and 10 points on days 2 and 3, respectively. This was despite the game officials who expanded the game for an additional 30 minutes to try to compensate for delays.
