King Charles III and Queen’s Camilla celebrate their 20th anniversary of a wedding with an unexpected visit with Pope Francis.
The British kings, who are currently in Italy on a state visit, marked 20 years since their names On Wednesday, April 9, with a private reception in the Vatican. They received good wishes from the Pope, 88, who have been recovering from recent health issues.
“A special minute of her majesty as they met his holiness privately Pope Francis in the Vatican yesterday,” shared Buckingham Palace through X Early on Thursday, April 10.
“The King and Queen were deeply touched by the Pope’s kind remarks for their 20th anniversary of wedding and in honor of being able to share their best wishes personally,” continued the Palace Post.

Palace Buckingham said in March that the visit had been “postponed by an agreement” after “Medical Council has now suggested that Pope Francis would benefit from an extended period of rest and recovery.”
