King Charles III releases its own playlist with Apple Music called The king’s musical room.
The playlist will be released on Commonwealth Day on Monday, March 10, and will include some of the King’s favorite music artists including Every Marley. Kylie Minogue and Grace Jones.
“Bringing popular artists from across the Commonwealth, the King has shared a selection of songs that have brought him joy in the ‘King’s Music Room’ to mark Commonwealth Day 2025,” reading a statement Divided via the Royal Family Instagram account on Friday, March 7.
“Recorded at Buckingham Palace, his Majesty provides stories of his personal experiences when explaining why each song was chosen,” the statement added.
In a related video message, Charles, 76, said: “Throughout my life, music has meant a great deal to me. I know that is also true of so many others. “
“He has that wonderful ability to bring back happy memories overflowing from the deepest niches of our memory, to comfort us at times of sadness, and to take us to distant places. But perhaps, above all, it can raise our spirit to such an extent, and more than that when it comes together to celebrate. That is, it brings us joy, ”he added.
The songs seen on the playlist are not yet to be revealed. However, Palace Buckingham shared the names of some of the artists in a statement on the Royal website.
“Crossing continents and genres, the playlist includes legendary artists Bob Marley, Kylie Minogue, and Grace Jones, alongside contemporary talent such as Davido and Raye,” said the statement.
“The King’s Music Room is sure to surprise and enchant music fans everywhere, revealing a more personal side to his grandeur,” he added.
The king will also share personal stories about his experiences with some of the artists chosen “and reveal why the songs help form the soundtrack into his life,” the statement said.
