I’m a lifelong fan of Buffy The Vampire Slayer; In fact, before my little hometown had the WB, I joined an on -lein mailing list and had a useful fan to send me VHS recordings of the first two seasons. I was hooked and remained a lifelong fan but in the coming Puff Reboot, I’m (in fashion Saved by the bell‘s Jessie) so excited and so scared. That’s because a number of high -profile TV resumes have made some serious blunders, and unless Buffy can avoid them, his own restart TV show will fail (AHEM) kill.
What are those mistakes? Grab your favorite portion (is there you, Mr Painy?) And keep reading to find out!
It is inevitable that the new Buffy The Vampire Slayer Reboot is going to focus on new characters. Sure, fans are excited that Sarah Michelle Gellar Coming back to re -appearing her role, but it is a safe bet that she will play more of Giles’ role and serve as a mentor for a new slayer (played by Ryan Kiera Armstrong). So, we can expect most of the show’s running time to be devoted to the errors of a completely new cast of characters.
That said, this restart is likely to flop if we don’t get enough gameos from the original show. Even if they only dropped for a chapter or two, it would be an offense if this was new Buffy The Vampire Slayer It doesn’t fill us on what characters like Willow and Xander have been doing in the years in the meantime. Personally, I would love to see an angel pop up, which would give writers the opportunity to officially explain what happened to him after a shocking cliff ended in an angel.
Without enough Gameos by OG characters past his pilot (hopefully he will get a full -term order), and Puff Reboot will not really appeal to old school fans. Without the support of the core fandom, this show will never survive into a second season.
In Buffy The Vampire SlayerThe entire show of the show is marked by its shameless title. Buffy is a slayer, someone accused of fighting vampires and other undead threats. By the end of the show, she has found a way to share her killing power with women around the world, which is why you can expect Gellar to play a mentor character: the last time we saw Buffy on screen, she was creating a small army of killers, all of them would need extra guide in terms of their great new powers and new fight.
If the Puff Reboot is to be successful, he needs to hold the show’s core plot of having a powered heroine fighting an army of undead monsters. Should the writers try to do something else, such as submitting a Bright-esque a world where the monsters now live with humanity, the show will certainly bomb. That’s because fans are tuning in for killing; If they want to watch humans do nice with weirdos in scary cosmetics, they would go to watch Trek Star.
Although the restart is unlikely to change the formula, it is more common than you would think. The Fatten Restarts his title radio host into a teacher, and Picard He transformed his titular captain Starfleet into a dissatisfied re -discussion. And those two shows are a lot, much Weaker for these changes, fate I can only hope Puff Avoid.
Earlier, I mentioned that the Puff Reboot will certainly focus more on original characters than familiar faces. With that said, it is vitally important that these characters are exciting and unique, with fun personalities and a witty dialogue to compete against the original show. Otherwise fans will be disappointed because of the new Buffy The Vampire Slayer Going to feel like a crappy, knockoff version of the best women’s power show in TV history.
You can largely throw a stone and hit a restart that is full of original Snoozeworthy characters, including Fatten. Charming. Girls of Clecsetc. The original shows on which they were based were largely successful thanks to their ensemble cast of well written charismatic characters. If the Puff It can’t restart with comedy synergy and cold vibrations of its original cast, the producers could also share the show and be made with it.
So far, the creators behind the upcoming Puff Reboot has been a cage about how much the new show will be connected with the old one. But we know the new show will be set in the same universe as Sarah Michelle Gellar plays Buffy. With that in mind, I have one more recommendation for these creators: please, pleasure Don’t ignore classical story lines, even if they are (especially if) silly.
It is more common than you would think: the Will and grace Restarts the last episode of the original show into a dream, and the Roseanne Reboot Dan’s death in the original. And take it from ’80s child, it is difficult count Number of story changes and a strange character retcons A full house. Here’s hope that PuffReboot does not remove any of these shenanigans and honor the stories, warts and all the original show.
Some audiences outraged by the old Cringeworthy story lines may be rooted for a few retcons. But remember, fans: If you don’t love Buffy The Vampire Slayer In his season 6, you don’t deserve it in his season 3!
