Kieran Tierney Complete moves to Celtic after the arsenal injury spelling spell

Kieran Tierney, on the left, has completed his transfer to Celtic.

The Scotland International has signed an agreement until 2030 at Celtic Park, six years after leaving Glasgow to Arsenal.

The young man, 28, won 10 important trophies during his first stage with Celtic, and after a degree of injuries in northern London, during which he made only 104 appearances in the league, Tierney was happy to return to his children’s club.

Tierney, who also had a loan spell with Real Sociedad during the 2023-24 season, told Celtic’s website: “Everyone is known for a few months and only to be here with the Celtic strip again only feels amazing.

“I talked to the manager and obviously worked with him before and I have always kept contact with him. He is one of the best, so I am so lucky and grateful that he has given me the opportunity to return again.

“When you move away from home, grow, learn different things. I was in Spain for a year, learning a different language and playing in a different league, so I am definitely a different person.

“The player is the same as I always say: I will try to work the hardest, I will do the best for the club and this is all that I can do.

“My ambition is only that Celtic is as successful as possible, keep our place at the top and continue to win trophies and having a good time for Celtic.”

Rodgers was excited to ensure Tierney’s signature

The movement allows Tienery to gather with Brendan Rodgers, whose workforce is now reinforced, as they seek to preserve the crown of the Premier League that they won last season.

Rodgers said, “We are happy to welcome Kieran to Celtic. He is such a talented and high quality player and will be a massive complement for our squad.

“Kieran has always had the Celtic in his blood and is excited to return to the place he loves.

“He is someone who has already given so much to Celtic and I know he is so motivated and hungry to help the club more and more successful to our fans.

“We are so happy to return an elite player to the club and I hope to return to work with him and the rest of the squad, as we face the many challenges at home and in Europe.”
