Music legend Kid Rock has slammed former first lady Michelle Obama for not planning to attend President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration, saying she “seems a little pissed off.”

Kid Rock, who will perform at the inauguration on January 20, argued that Obama should attend out of “respect for the presidency.”
“I would like to kindly remind her that years ago when (Barack) Obama was first elected, I didn’t vote for him, but they asked me to play the inauguration and I played it and I went,” Rock told “Jesse Watters Primetime.” Thursday night, reminding us of a “good time” regardless of politics.

“So, I would kindly remind Miss Michelle of that,” Kid Rock continued, stressing that he attended former President Barack Obama’s inauguration out of respect for the presidential process.
The former first lady is skipping Trump’s inauguration rather than hiding her disdain for the incoming president, according to new reports. In addition, sources close to Michelle Obama her absence is believed to be due to an act of defiance or because she was “keeping her credibility” by avoiding Trump, The Hill reported.

Obama has a history of expressing disdain for Trump. Before the 2024 elections. she called him at the Democratic National Convention for “doubling down on the ugly misogynist, racist lies as a substitute for real ideas and solutions that will actually make people’s lives better.”
Currently, former presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton, along with their spouses and former first ladies, are set to attend the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump.

The absence will be the second major event Michelle Obama will miss in the past two weeks. She did not visit the former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral in Washington last week. Trump along with Barack Obama attended the funeral.
In addition to calling for Michelle Obama’s absence, Kid Rock expressed his own excitement about the inauguration, calling the future president a “great guy.”
