The tragic death of Captain Bobby Nash on 9-1-1’s Two-part event this week left legions of heartbreaking fans and in tears-and cast member Kenneth choi equally devastating.
Choi, who plays Han ‘Chimney’, opened up Entertainment weekly Friday, April 18 for how emotional it came when the popular character, played by his costar Peter Krause. was killed away.
“I was sober,” Choi, 53, who played a key role in the dramatic scenes That ended with the demise of Nash, at the outlet.
“That is, I filmed it and I still soberly sober with my friend for like three or four minutes to the point where I started laughing at myself, because it was an uncontrollable sober. I laughed at myself saying, ‘I don’t know what’s going on! I know this isn’t real like this?’ But it was devastating to me.
Choi also reflected on the 9-1-1’s Showrunner’s moment Tim Minear Having told him they planned to get rid of Nash, which had been in the middle of the show since its inception in 2018. The actor said he did not want to believe that it was actually happening and struggling to absorb the news.
“I got into those grief action. Deny, mainly: ‘This doesn’t make any sense. Why would you do it? You kind of killing our father’s figure …’” Choi remembered.

I fought it up until we kind of made the funeral stuff, because I thought, ‘They might pull it back. They might change their minds. They might reverse a course ..”
The incident called 9-1-1, broadcast on Thursday, April 17, Nash and the 118 research lab at the Southern California Institute of Technology, which had become a Biohazard after being set on fire. The scenario led to the character of Choi, a chimney, contracting a deadly and rare virus, which could only be improved by a single vaccine.
When a chimney managed to get his hands on the cure – thanks to Buck (Oliver Stark) and Athena (Angela Bassett) Efforts – Bobby hid the truth about his mask breaking so that a chimney would take the vaccine for himself. It was revealed that Bobby was also infected with the deadly virus, and sacrificed himself so that a chimney could survive.
