Kell Brook recalls Golovkin’s struggle, doubts Crawford’s possibilities against Canelo’s 168 pounds

Kell Brook believes that the size and advantage of the power of the Super Mitjà champion, Canelo Alvarez, will be too much that Terence Crawford surpasses in his fight on September 13.

The former heavy weight champion, Brook, says it would be a different story if Crawford (41-0, 31 kos) fought against a “Mediocre champion” At Middleweight, I would have a good opportunity to win. But to put himself against a “good champion” in 168, it will be too much.

Terence by jumping middle weight risks

Crawford jumped the 160 -pound division. If he had moved to the middle weight and he would have challenged the IBF champion and the WBO, Janibek Alimkhanuly, he would probably have lost with him. Janibek is an even greater punch than Israil Madrimov, and that boy fought against Crawford until a partial last August.

Crawford’s weight jump challenge

“Crawford will have to climb (two divisions and 14 pounds). I know when I caused Golovkin. There is a big difference, especially when it is someone (good),” said Kell Brook to FANT OF THE PRO boxDiscussing what Terence Crawford is against his crash against Canelo Alvarez.

Brook did -well against Golovkin initially, doing it down to four rounds. However, an eye injury stopped Kell’s progress in the fifth, forcing it to stop when he could no longer cope with GGG pressure. However, Golovkin was a 34 -year -old, with a better resistance than the 35 -year -old Canelo.

The Mexican star cannot fight at the same pace as Golovkin did against Brook. It does not have the engine that Golovkin had towards the same age. So the possibilities that Canelo brought Crawford down as GGG with Brook are thin, but that does not mean he will not win. It still has the advantage of power and experience on Crawford.

If the Nebraska native had moved to 168 during the year outside the ring, it would have a better chance of winning. I did not want to risk -lose and lose your $ 50 million giant payment.

“Fighting against a medium weight, a mediocre world champion, it’s OK. When you fight someone like Canelo, it’s a different fisherman’s kettle. I have to be tilted -to Canelo, but Crawford is very good.”

Well, Crawford has not even fought against a medium weight. He moved to 154 in his last fight against Israil Madrimov, and did not even dominate him. Madrimov nicknamed “Little GGG”, Madrimov made a number on Crawford’s face and approached him. Crawford is now moving two additional divisions to fight an even larger punch in Canelo on September 13.

Brook lost to Crawford in 2020 by a fourth round. It was not a main version of Kell that Terence beat. This was the worn version of Golovkin Post-Gennadiy’s eye injuries. It would have been much harder for Crawford to come to Brook when he was at his best before GGG came to him and ruined what had been a promising career.

Brook compares Crawford with Mayweather

“When I look back when (Floyd) Mayweather beat Canelo (2013), he was a biker. Crawford is not really like Mayweather in this regard. He gets his feet. He has been cut into the way he approaches, squashing shots and moving. -Se, “said Brook.

Crawford used to be a movement years ago. When you look back at its fight against Viktor Postol in 2016, its mobility was at the same time with a principle of Mayweather. However, this was nine years ago. This version of Crawford no longer exists in 2025.

The years have been tough in Terence’s body, stealing it from their foot speed and much of the speed of the hand at that moment. Now all that remains is his IQ and his ambition to make money and assume what some boxing fans believe that he is the best fighter in the 168 -pound division.
