Katie Thurston reveals her treatment plan after recently announced Breast cancer has spread to his liver.
“My treatment is initially being set on six treatments, three weeks apart,” Thurston, 34, wrote on Friday, March 28, in a question and answered post through his Instagram stories. “Basically, treatment is a bespoke day for travel/discharges/recovery.”
Went on to explain that her husband, comedian Jeff ArchesWill “probably miss the first three” because of its schedule.
“The good news is that if I’m on his feet, I can still travel where it’s as early as the next day,” he added.
One week After their marriageThurston announced on Friday that her cancer had spread to his liver.
“After days of waiting, unfortunately I discovered today that my breast cancer has spread to the liver,” the first Bachelorette Star said via Instagram video. “It’s fairly small, however it puts me in step four.”
In another Instagram story post, Thurston explained how this new update will affect her treatment going forward.
“Essentially, the plan is the same as my breast cancer,” he explained, after a fan asked how doctors will treat the cancer in his liver. “The cancer within the liver comes from breast cancer spreads against a new type of cancer. So in basic terms, my big cancer is the root and the focus. Six rounds of chemo will initially.”
Thurston also explained that Zoladex, a medicine used to treat hormone -dependent cancers, will “play a role in retaining fertility during treatment.”
“Basically, I put my ovaries in temporary menopause (I like to say hibernation), to protect them from chemo,” he explained in another post. “It will also reduce the production of estrogen, which is especially important in hormone receptor cancer er+/PR+, because estrogen can ignite the growth of cancer. I racked my stomach for three minutes before they made the injection. All all things are considered. No symptoms I noticed either.”
Thurston revealed that she also discussed the possibility of using a proxy with her husband.
“I never like the word ‘having to’ with anything related to medical. Similar to ‘never say.’ However, yes, Jeff and I discussed the importance of my health and when the time comes, Surrogacy is likely to be the best option for us.
He went on to give “a friendly reminder to their followers to stop judging celebrities who follow Surrogacy because you do not know what they have in their personal lives.”
