“It was so sweet. The couple has used humor as a way to cope with Thurston’s diagnosis as well.
“It’s been great for matching my energy.… People say, ‘You’re so strong.’ I might appear so, ”said Thurston Us. “But I’m also in therapy and some days, I’m very sad. Some days, we’re fun and playful and make jokes out of a very pocket. So he can just match whatever mood appears that day (he supports me). He has been to every appointment with me so far. He has made every single shot that is about IVF.”

“Chemo affects your reproductive health. It raises the risk you would be able to conceive. Knowing that we wanted children in the future, we thought, ‘Okay, let’s do IVF just to get that option.’ We consecrated two weeks before doing anything else wise when it comes to breast cancer to do IVF, ”he said. “RMA was amazing. I don’t want to say that they specialize in oncofertility, but they understand – and all that really means is caring for patients with cancer who also want to make IVF. (Some) doctors almost frowned on it or they want to scare you and say, ‘No, no, you need to take care of this cancer.’ So many women don’t even realize that you can take 10 days to dedicate time to your reproductive health and future family plans.
At the end of their conversation with US, Arcuri made a point to praise his bride for being so open for her journey.
“The work she walks into a room reading a message from someone says they have been checked because of her – she takes what happens to her and does good,” he said. “It’s like, ‘I’m glad it happened to me with my stage so I can help other people.’”
