Katie and Joyce were initially to be married In August 2024. This last year has experienced us in ways we could never have imagined, but our love has always come out stronger,” wrote Katie through Instagram in March. “You’ve shown in ways that mean more than I can put in words, and I know I wouldn’t have gone through without you.”
He added at the time, “Since high school, I’ve been waiting for the day I’m calling you a husband … even though I’m calling you a husband now. I can’t wait for July 11th to be official for you to be your wife. No matter what life throws our way, I’ll always be ready for all-key singing and dancing terrible with you-but it is in a bar or our small kitchen.”
Katie further noted the unexpected deaths of her brothers taught “to celebrate (their) daily love, every minute.”
