Kate Winslet Reveals Fear Of ‘Scary’ Animal That Will Stamp Her

Kate Winslet famous for his fearless film roles – but he’s not completely fearless.

While appearing on the Friday, January 17, episode of The Late ShowWinslet, 49, told the host Stephen Colbert for what she refers to as “the scariest animal in the world.”

“I’m not great with cows,” he told Colbert, 60, which drew laughs from the host and his studio audience. “No, no, don’t listen, this is it. Someone said to me, ‘Oh you’ve got to learn how to read a field of cows, you’ve got to be careful because if they turn, they’re gone.'”

The Lee seren continued to remember the advice she had received, detailing that if you see, “their tails are swishin’ and they flick like that and there are flies,” it means they are unhappy. “They might charge you,” he recalled hearing.

Winslet added that she never realized how dangerous cows could be, telling Colbert that she goes “hiking all the time,” where she often navigates trails “through fields of cows.”

“I’ve decided they’re going to stamp me to the ground,” Winslet hilariously finished with a straight face. The comment led Colbert to wonder, “Has this ever happened?” and Winslet revealed that cows had indeed stalked her and her mother in the past.

“They were Bo-Peeping slowly and then they sped up, really,” Winslet said. “Boderline (a) couple of sprinters, I’d say. However, there are quite a few stories in England about people having a very nasty run in with cows. Real ones. So I’m very wary of a field of cows.”

She added that she wanted to “get better at coping” with her fear, telling Colbert, “they’re not really scared, are they? No, they’re not,” before repeating that being wary of cows is a “legitimate fear.”

Colbert’s light-hearted interview question was part of what the TV host calls “The Colbert Questionert,” which consists of 15 interview questions to help him get to know his guests. Previous celebrities who have taken part in the often hysterical interview series include George Clooney, Meryl Streep a Tom Hanks.

As for Winslet, her concerns about a cow follow the actress’ candid recollection of one of her most famous on-screen moments. During the September 26 episode of the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast, hosted by Josh HorowitzWinslet revealed that she and Titanic costar Leonardo DiCaprio filming it infamous door scene in “waist height” water.

“That was a pretty awkward tank, that one,” Winslet told Horowitz. “To burst a bubble, it was waist height, that tank. So first of all, I was regularly like, ‘Ugh, can I go pee,’ and then I would get up, get off the door, walk to the edge of the tank which was about 20 feet away, and I would literally have to throw my leg over and climb out of the tank and go for a pee and then come back and crawl on the door again.”

He added that DiCaprio, 49, knelt the whole time he was filming his (spoiler alert) death scene, which has been very heavy for years.
