Kate Beckinsale shares an emotional moment with her elderly mother.
The actress, 51, Took to Instagram Wednesday, July 9, and posted a video of her mother’s staring, Judy looeat the hospital. She sang The Everly Brothers hit in 1958 “Bye, Bye Love,” one of Loe’s Childhood Favorites.
“When my mother was 14, she was in a harmony group with her best friends Mary, Sylvia, (known as foggy to this day due to unfortunate Perm decades ago) and Chris,” Beckinsale headed the video. “Unfortunately Mary is no longer with us but until very recently even though they are in their 70s who are now late in the 70s they would come together and still kill him completely.”
The Serendipity Star continued, “I’m a very bad substitute without being a very good singer but I want my mother’s loved and oldest friends in her hospital room with her, so Fuz and Chris, you know I’m trying to keep the four teenagers to go best as I can from afar.”
Beckinsale said she loved the two women “and how much support and love you send and is a sign of my mother’s amazing ability to love and deep respect for a relationship history that her friendship with her early school friends is still so current. Love you all but most especially my mother.”
She finished her caption by apologizing to “anyone in hospital subject to my terrible singing.”
Beckinsale fans flocked to the comments section with messages of support.
“You’re a wonderful girl 💖 I’m familiar with this pain. I’m sorry 😪,” wrote one fan, while another has pointed out, “Your singing is beautiful and the tribute is even more so. Sending tight love and commercials, Kate.”
Although Beckinsale did not explain why LOE was in hospital, late last year she revealed that her mother was battling phase 4 cancer.
