Justin Timberlake revealed that he was diagnosed with Lyme disease during his Forget tomorrow’s journey.
“As many of you know, I’m a private person. But as I am reflecting on the tour and the festival tour – I want to tell you a little about what’s happening with me,” wrote the singer, 44, Instagram On Thursday, July 31, alongside photos of different tour performances. “Among other things, I’ve been battling some health issues, and have been diagnosed with Lyme disease – that I don’t say so you feel bad for me –– but to shed some light on what I’ve been against behind the scenes.”
Lyme disease is an illness caused by borrelia bacteria, which is usually transferred from a ticking bite, per Mayo clinic. Symptoms included rashes, body pain, stiffness, muscle weakness and immune system issues. Stars like Shania Twain and Justin Bieber also combat the condition.
“If you have experienced this disease or know someone who has – then you are aware: living with this can be unholy, mentally and physically,” he continued. “When I was first diagnosed I was shocked. But, at least I was able to understand why I would be on stage and in a great deal of nerve pain or, just feel fatigue or crazy illness.”
Timberlake added that he was “facing a personal decision,” either “stop traveling” or “keep up and calculate.” Eventually, the musician, who has made waves on Tiktok recently decided to get the crowd instead Forget tomorrow’s journey Wrapped up on Wednesday, July 30, in Istanbul.

Lionel Hahn/Getty images“I decided the joy that performing brings me much more than the fleet stress that my body felt. I’m so glad I continued,” he shared. “Not only did I experience my own mental deity but, I have so many special moments now with all of you that I will never forget.”
Timberlake admitted he was “reluctant” to talk about his diagnosis in public. However, he wanted to “be more transparent” for his “battles” to contact fans at a deeper level and possibly “help others experience this disease as well.”

Timberlake also thanked his “crew, band, singers, and dancers” for all their hard work to make every show happen and want to be “a beautiful family away from home.”
“There is really no way to put in the words of the feeling of being on stage and having the experience of live music with all of you,” he said of what performing means to him. “It’s a frequency vibration that is unrivaled. Sacred to me. I honestly don’t know what my future is on stage but I will always cherish this run! And all of them before! It has been my legend stuff.”
Timberlake finished his job with a message to his familylady Jessica Biel and their two sons Silas and Phineas.
“To Jess, Silas, and Pin… there’s nothing more powerful than your unconditional love. You’re my heart and my home. I’m on my way …” he cried.
Timberlake has been on tour since July 2024. He performed across the United States, Canada, Mexico, South America and Europe.
