At Baldoni’s a new $400 million lawsuit against Lively, 37, who was found by Us Weekly on Thursday, January 16, Baldoni appeared to talk about Swift, 34, and Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynoldswhile discussing Lively’s changes for the now famous rooftop scene in their film It Ends With Us.
“I was working on the roof scene today, I love what you did. It really does hep (sic) a lot. Makes it so much fun and interesting. (And I would have felt that way without Ryan and Taylor),” Baldoni texts alongside a winking face emoji. “You really are a talent in general. Very excited and (sic) grateful to do this together.”
According to the lawsuit, Lively allegedly replied but did not point out Baldoni’s reference to Reynolds, 48, or Swift.
“That is very much appreciated. And means a lot. I’m very inspired by the movies and we’re going to do it off the success of the book,” the actress replied in the documents. “We have such an opportunity to not only surprise people who love the book but reach an even bigger audience by making an undeniably dynamic and commercial film as well.”
Swift was also apparently mentioned in a text message exchange between Baldoni and a Sony Entertainment executive, which circulated It Ends With Us. The alleged conversation claimed that Lively was reaching out to Swift to use one of her songs for the film. (Swift’s 2020 track “My Tears Ricochet” was featured in it the first trailer of the film.)
“Blake calls Taylor to approve the song. Of course, she reached out saying that she was asking for time with … her editor,” read an alleged message from a contact named Sony Executive No. 1. “We know it’s contingent on signing a contract – but asking if you’ll reconsider that … can release this trailer and Blake isn’t changing his mind about calling Taylor Swift.”

Baldoni’s lawsuit claimed he was “thankful” to her for “her passion” but ultimately wanted the movie moment to be “somewhere between the original version and Lively’s version.” Lively allegedly didn’t respond to him for “multiple days” before texting him back.
“Of course, I didn’t feel great for me. Or (another megacelebrity friend and Ryan Reynolds). To be praised for my passion instead of my specific contribution,” Lively’s alleged message wrote.
The identity of the famous friend is unclear.

Baldoni filed the new lawsuit against Lively, Reynolds and Lively’s publicist Leslie Sloanefor $400 million in damages. The filing comes after he took legal action against The New York Times for libel and false light disturbing privacy. (Lively sue Baldoni first in December, claiming he was launching a “social manipulation” campaign against her and fostered a “hostile work environment” on set. Baldoni has denied the allegations.)
“This lawsuit is legal action based on a large amount of unaltered evidence detailing a duplicitous attempt by Blake Lively and her team to destroy Justin Baldoni, his team and their respective companies by disseminating new information edited, unproven, heavily edited for the media,” Attorney Balondi Bryan Freedman he said in a statement to Us. “It is clear based on our willingness to provide all the complete text messages, emails, video footage and other documentary evidence shared between the parties in real time, that this is a battle she will not win and which he will certainly regret. “
The statement continued: “Blake Lively was seriously misled by her team or knowingly and willfully misrepresented the truth. Ms. Lively will never again be allowed to continue to exploit real victims of harassment just to gain her personal reputation at the expense of the powerless. Don’t forget, Ms. Lively and her team ruined reputations and livelihoods for horribly selfish reasons by dangerously manipulating the media themselves before even taking any real legal action. We know the truth, and now the public does too. Justin and his team have nothing to hide, documents don’t lie.”
Publishers affected by Lively’s lawsuit offered an additional statement.
“It is devastating that we are being forced to answer this vicious and selfish ongoing litigation filled with documented and proven lies in the midst of the tragedy affecting California where we live . Five months ago Ms. Lively promoted a film about domestic violence in a way that caused an immediate negative and organic backlash due to her very publicizing actions,” they said in a statement to Us. “Instead of accepting responsibility, she decided to blame us cruelly. This malicious attack on private individuals by Ms. Lively and her team where they chose to spoon feed the New York Times with doctored, out of context and edited text messages in an effort to paint herself as a victim set off a chain of events that has been damaging beyond measure.”
The statement continued: “To be clear, Ms. Lively and her team this smear campaign in the media with the sole intention of garnering undeserved public sympathy for her own misdeeds. Over the past month we have received death threats, vile abuse and vile anti-semitic slurs hurled at us because of her decision to use us as a scapegoat for her own choices in promoting her movie where she made millions of dollars . With this filing, we are lifting our own curtain on what happens when the entitled wield power, fear and money to destroy, intimidate and bully those who violate their way.”
