The lawsuit was initiated by the immigrant’s rights to make the road to New York, as well as the American Civil Liberties and the Union of Civil Liberties in New York.

“Today’s order sends a clear message: Ice cannot contain people in abusive conditions and deny them their constitutional rights to the proper process and the legal representation,” said Senior Prosecutor Aklo Eunnis Cho.

“We will continue to fight to ensure that people’s rights are supported by 26 federal squares and abroad,” the statement reads.
