Judge arrested after allegedly interfered with immigration agents

A judge in Wisconsin was arrested by the US federal authorities after allegedly trying to help an unregistered immigrant who appeared in court to avoid arrest.

The US Marshall Service told the BBC CBS News partner that the officers were taken by Miluoka Hannah Dugan, officers on Friday morning.

In a report on X, which was removed in a few minutes, the FBI director Kashli claimed that Dugan allowed Eduard Flores-Ruit, a Mexican national, threatening three battery counting, escape from her courtroom.

Flores-Ruis appeared in the Miluoki court for a scheduled hearing on April 18 and was later detained by immigration bodies.

Milwaukee Sentinel said that on that day, US immigration and customs executive (ICE) arrived in the courtroom and that Dugan sent them to the chief judge’s office.

While the agents were in the office, the newspaper reports, Dugan led Flores-Ruis and his lawyers to the side doors leading from the courtroom.

Sentinel reports that Dugan had disputed the events of the document but did not provide more information.

The document reports that the accusations against the Flores-Ruizo were in the wrestling room in March.

Dugan was first elected a judge in 2016 and was re -elected to the second six -year term in 2022.

The court elections in Wisconsin are non -partisan, but Dugan was approved by the Democratic mayor of Milouoki.
