Jota provides leaders derby struggle rights as Reds extend to the lead

The second half of Diogo Jota proved to be enough for Liverpool, as Arne Slot’s side claimed the victory over Everton at Merseyside to move 12 points at the top of the Premier League.

Jota scored 57 minutes after the Toffees Beto striker had seen his first goal in the half discarded out of play. And another effort affected the place.

The result extends Liverpool’s uninvictive test to the Premier League at 26 games, while Everton was perhaps a little fortunate to finish the game with 11 players after James Tarkowski’s attack on Alexis Mac Allister.

For visitors, David Moyes’s Anfield record made an ominous reading before the start of the kick. The 61 -year -old had never won a game on Liverpool’s grass in 21 attempts during his managerial career.

And this non -earnings were not finished here, as the increase in the Reds towards the title continues to collect the speed.

As the action was deployed

In the face of a multitude of typically raucous Anfield, Liverpool started the brightest of the two sides. Diogo Jota saw his shot blocked before Tarkowski was lucky not to be sent when he trapped Mac Allister High in his leg after erasing the ball.

Of the resulting free lack, Dominik Szoboszlai squeezed his wide inch effort.

Then, apparently out of nothing, Beto set up a hopeful Everton ball. The striker surpassed Virgil Van Dijk before putting home, but the flag was raised offside and the target was ruled out.

Beto was back in the center of the action 12 minutes later when he traveled the goal, but Guinea-Bissau International shot was cannon against the post.

Suddenly, Everton Tails got up and the toffees ended with half a much more threatening at halftime.

But the hosts, with a animated front three from Salah, Jota and Luis Diaz, were a constant danger.

Jota almost put himself at the end of a Ryan Gravenberch cross, and later the Dutch midfielder signed up, but the strike took a kind of Tarkowski deviation and stood in the grateful arms of Jordan Pickford.

The second half started when the first was over, with Gravenberch hitting from a distance and Pickford Palming.

Jota became a crowd when the party started to open.

In 57 minutes, the Portuguese International was in a similar position in the Everton penalty area, but this time it retained its composition, making a stroke elegantly after two defenders before rifling home.

Anfield was in shape to explode. Everton launched Armando Broja and Iliman Ndiaye to try to rescue something from the tie.

But the hosts saw the game to secure both points and presumption rights. Only 13 points now separate the Liverpool from the Premier League title with eight games.
